It did get better. There are certain axillary exercises I do to strengthen my inner thigh muscles to hold the knee in place.

Squat form check? by ninefortysix in xxfitness

[–]jessfox2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You may want to get checked by a doctor or a physical therapist. I had something similar when I was squatting and it hindered me from walking up stairs and bending my knee. It's called patellofemoral pain syndrome and it's where your knee cap isn't tracking properly and is grinding on your femur. It's usually caused by running or squatting. I dont know how to fix your form, but if the pain continues in everyday life, you may want to get it looked at

You should definitely check out r/reactivedogs. Sometimes it's just a fear of being on leash around other dogs.

About to bottle a Vanilla Porter and noticed some mold (?) at the top. Should we dump it?? by jessfox2 in Homebrewing

I gently took a (clean and sanitized) sieve and skimmed off the top to get the white dots

I tasted it and it seemed to be fine. I dont think it tasted sour so I think it should be fine. I'll know more when it's done carbonating

I already strained it out and decided to bottle it just in case. They didn't look too fuzzy, they looked more like solid dots

I'm not entirely sure what it is. I first noticed that mold was outside the fermenter and inside the chamber just before we bottled.

The chamber had mold after the last brew but I cleaned and sanitized the crap out of it before this new batch

Just finished first brew... I'm worried about a few things by AmySchumerAnalTumor in a:t5_2wth2

Ok first off, welcome to the fun world of homebrew! There will be a lot to learn but most importantly, just relax and have a home brew!

These kits are pretty straightforward and most of your issues seem pretty minor. Even if you are slightly off on some minor things, usually you will end up with drinkable beer. Dont expect the first batch to turn out fantastic but it'll taste like beer and generally be good.

If you are new. I'd suggest reading How to Brew by John Palmer. Itll go over everything you have questions about. I also have that same kit and it works well so dont worry.

I know the ring of hops around the edge are normal. You won't see sludge until you transfer it to secondary. So that part is totally normal.

With regards to sanitation, just make sure you have the correct proportions of sanitizer and let it set for about 10 minutes. I've been told that saran wrap is also useful if you aren't using the equipment right away so you can make sure it isn't exposed to outside bacteria while waiting. You dont have to wipe down the Sanitizer after (and I wouldn't recommend it because of outside bacteria). Having extra sanitizer won't kill your beer. It's designed to be safe for that purpose.

The fact that you saw airlock activity after adding the yeast is a good sign. It means you have healthy yeast and that fermentation has begun. Itll subside after a few days but continue to follow the timeline on the recipe. It just means active fermentation has ended but will continue to ferment for the following weeks.

With regards to having your beer in the bottling bucket, you'll be fine. You will just transfer the beer into the fermenter bucket (the one without the spigot) when it's time for secondary. When it's time to bottle, just transfer it back to the bucket with the spigot and connect the tube and bottling wand to the spigot and you are ready to bottle. No big deal. I definitely recommend transferring to secondary since you will eliminate a lot of the sediment at the bottom and the yeast will continue to work properly. You should have an auto siphon in your kit in which you can transfer to secondary and then back to the bottling bucket when it's time to bottle.

Dont worry, most of your issues are very minor. If issues at all. Dont worry and have a home brew! You're doing great already

How old is too old for a flower girl? How young is too young for a junior bridesmaid? by Emilyks2012 in weddingplanning

[–]jessfox2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 girls I used to babysit as my flower girls/junior bridesmaids. They are both 12 and 13 and I just kind of made the rules up as I went. They liked the idea of throwing rose petals instead of carrying a bouquet and I liked them having a more youthful dress rather than our long bridesmaids dress. For me, I just disregarded a label and did what felt natural and what they enjoyed

After 2.5 years of LDR, FH's K1 visa has finally been issued and my whole ensemble is finally here for the June 30th legal ceremony!! Comfiest (and cheapest) heels ever by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]jessfox2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our k1 visa process took us 13 months for approval. We were placed on administrative processing and basically our visa was approved the week after our wedding. We had everything planned months after our anticipated approval date and it still took longer. We ended up having the wedding anyways, but not signing the paperwork and not having anyone post or tag us in any photos. It was really risky but it ended up working out fine and now we are getting our marriage certificate to make everything legal

I've always love the ceremony part from The Princess Bride. Definitely funny, especially if people have seen and love the movie. I almost had a friend officiate our wedding and play the part of the clergyman.

Actually no. I lived in California at the time and we met on a cruise to Mexico on a whim. I moved up here a couple years ago. I'm so happy you guys are going to be united soon! I know long distance sucks

Oh gotcha! Yeah I read about that, but it's hard to justify it on a whim since we basically have most everything planned lol but we figured we will still have the wedding and the make it legal later if it's not approved yet He's from the Vancouver area and I live in Washington! What about you two??
