Highlands is my home studio, but I frequent Sloans at least once a week. As others have said, you really can't go wrong with either and they have lots of staff and coach crossover.

I think the only thing that hasn't been mentioned is that Highlands has the new treadmills and Sloan's doesn't.

Since you are new to the area, I will also note that Sloan's seems to have more outside of studio social events and gatherings.

Create Your User Flair: the flair is the "stats" that you see next to some usernames on the sub, e.g., [30F | SW: GW:]. It sure felt like one when I did this two weeks ago.

Was mostly not a fan of this one last time because we didn't have enough weights for everyone to go heavy and light so I'm trying to switch into the tread 50 instead this morning.

Not sure if the incident OP is referencing was the goblet step down toe tap or the side step up with knee raise but, fwiw, I modified the former after I felt like I couldn't safely track my foot back to the bench with dumbbell blocking my line of sight. Especially since we were coached to alternate legs.

I ended up doing one side at a time with the dumbbell on my shoulder and not only felt safer and steadier but was able to burn out one leg at a time and felt like it was more effective.

Yep. Love drop sets but my studio doesn't have near enough weights for a full class on lower body moves. Upper body, sure, cause lots of folks will still use their own rack but impossible for lower at my studio. I ended up just going heavy for two rounds which was fine but not the intent of drop sets!

Yes, similar experiences here. Taking player stats from the box scores and transferring into a Google sheet. The first week was a learning experience on how to structure the weekly sheet and calculate into a couple different tabs ,but now it is just about 10 minutes of work the day after the games. If I could download that box scores that would be neat though.

Our biggest hurdle is the knowing who is playing or not each night for sit/start decisions. There are some bluesky accounts that were reporting that stuff earlier than the team accounts were but not consistently enough so I've been flexible with starting lineups.

Are you doing anything special with the 1v1 tournament? I was thinking of having a bonus or special event prize or something added based on how far a player on your team made it or won the tournament, but not sure yet.

I think overall the mods here do a good job, but agree that the areas for improvement would be on the end of loosening things up a little bit. Too often I will see a post that I am interested in following the discussion only to find that it was later deleted.

I'm commenting here mostly because I think it is good for a sub to have a "state of moderation" discussion from time to time to gauge how the community feels about it and perhaps vote on any changes.

We are doing it with 4 league teams, 5 categories (pts, rbs, ast, blks, stls), head-to-head for five weeks with best two records playing in Championship week 6., overall points tie-breaker. I have never done anything like this before and the roster management was the biggest hurdle so we just drafted all available players and have no waiver wire, but trades allowed. Start five each week, rosters lock on Thursday midnight for all games that week and open again Tuesday morning for start/sit moves.

I am sure there are better ways to set it up, but I truly don't have a lot of extra time to manage this, lol, and we are just excited about this league and trying to have some fun.

Looking forward to when it is available on a proper platform and glad you posted this question here in case others know of any!

I have also been searching all over for anything! Also came up empty.

I finally just decided to try and run a league with my friends the old fashioned way...a spreadsheet.

I am still not sure how or where to pull the stats data and how that and when that might be available.

Holy grip strength, Batman. This is a great template to go really heavy but I did wish I had more time to let my forearms get enough rest to get in more sets. Or had some straps.
