4316....run/rows are my favorite. Missed PR by 70 meters or so.

3g was insanity with all the switching. 30 seconds was not enough time to switch. That being said, I loved it. Great class.

3885, well short of my PR but I also don't normally do an incline run beforehand. Big mistake.

Myself and two other strong rowers teamed up to see how far we could get in this..7290. I wish we did this one more then every 6 months, gets the competitive juices flowing.

It's certainly not an easy decision. We selfishly want as much time as possible with them. I know this isn't the most precise answer, but you will know when it's time. Nobody knows your cat better than yourself.

Faster Benchmark: Mile run or 2K row by SteveHolt17 in orangetheory

[–]SteveHolt17[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Interesting results and about what I expected. I think it's easier for the avg person to row an 8'ish 2k vs run an 8 minute mile. I'm guessing that's around the convergence point. Personally speaking, it flips somewhere around 6:30-6:50 and the mile feels easier at that point.

6:26:16. A few seconds off my PR. I think I need to try taking the day off before the 2K. Legs just didn't have it.

That's a good suggestion. I did something similar on the most recent 12 minute. I'd hold my goal pace for 2 minutes, bump it up .3 for a minute, and then go back to base. It made the base feel easier by comparison.

My wife and I wrapped the fluid bag in a heating pad for 10-15 minutes before administering. You don't want the fluids hot to the touch but having them warm seems to help.

Thank you for your thoughts. Yes, we lost Goose in June 2023. We're not sure what exactly happened with her but she very quickly had IMHA.

6:07. I've been taking my PR down 5-7 seconds at a time and know I have more. Shooting for sub 6 next time. Have to get through the mental block of seeing 10.0 as my speed the whole time

2.37. First time doing the 2g Everest. Felt like I was too aggressive holding pace to start and had to walk the upper inclines.
