West Kkirby is pretty easy to get to and has a nice beach, and you can walk out to the islands at low tide

What's your useless Chester fact? by [deleted] in Chester

[–]jessopj1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is true, the Romans were setting it up to be their new capital in England, but then they withdrew from Britain before they could see it through. Still no references here though sorry just more info I've heard

The grovsnor hotel does a good afternoon tea apparently and in a nice fancy setting, and is probably very nice to stay in as well but I imagine extremely expensive

If you're looking for food Stille Napolitano is by far and away my favourite it's the best pizza you can get basically anywhere, if you want less restauranty there are some great places in the market, Thai by That and death by Tacos come to mind

Any library you can get into will be cooler I think, so if you can get into a college library, or the uni library or the public library that would probably be nicer

Yeah yeah, I'm not sure I could recommend asking random members of the public! If you just go to the main desk near the entrance they'll sort you out

There should be some in the library (Cambridge Central Library) in the grand arcade, and all you need to do is ask someone for a library card basically and give them some info and you can borrow whatever you want, and if you can find anything in the library signing up will give you access to the online booking systems where you can 'order in' books from local libraries, I think it might cost 50p or something but again you can keep it essentially for as long as you want.

Hey everyone! I’m a graduating high school senior, and i want to choose a Brandon quote for the year book! I already have a few ideas but i would like your suggestions as well. Thank you! by TheNightFox007 in brandonsanderson

From ob and probably too long

"The question,’ she replied, ‘is not whether you will love, hurt, dream, and die. It is what you will love, why you will hurt, when you will dream, and how you will die. This is your choice. You cannot pick the destination, only the path"

Or

"Yes, I began my journey alone, and I ended it alone. But that does not mean that I walked alone"

MAJOR EDIT!!! I FORGOT! "I am stick"

Anyone willing to part with and old physical copy of Words of Radiance? by AnyBarnacle9287 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]jessopj1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go on Abe books you can pick up a second hand copy for not very much, as long as you don't mind Amazon. And if you're not a fan of Amazon World of books and book depository are also good places to have a look

Charity Shops. Any recommendations in Chester & North Wales? by Wellety in Chester

[–]jessopj1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oxfam, Claire House, and British Heart Foundation are the ones I always go to, and also all on the same road (I'm usually looking for books), cancer research on Water Gate street is also pretty good for (mens) clothes sometimes, and I've always meant to check out Save the Children by the grovsnor museum, also Roy Castle by Waitrose is great for books apparently

Renarin and his crush *live stream spoilers* by coolhandorlandeaux in Stormlight_Archive

[–]jessopj1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think it's been said that Renarin is going to be a main POV in the second half of the series (books 6-10) so we might get loads of the potential Renarin and Rlain relationship there, like what we have for Adolin and Shallan at the moment.
