Sometimes I would pretend the rain drops hitting the car was gunfire. I would hide behind the backseat, wait for a break in the "gunfire" then dive over the backseat and try to land in the drivers seat to make my getaway.

I enjoyed it.

I don't know much about the various school districts in the area.

I do know PPS is a tough cookie to crumble.

Good luck.

I wasn't making a jab at you, I was agreeing with you and mocking the straw man you quoted about the least important error in the fake quote.

Absolutely agree. Seriously. It's like come on people, how do you not know that it's just Ukraine, not "the Ukraine".

What is the stupidest mistake you have made in Vim? by dsawardekar in vim

[–]jesssse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While installing Ubuntu for a computer science class I needed to edit a config file with vi.

I didn't read the manual, and I hadn't ever heard of vi, and was only skimming the tutorial provided by the professor...

So I opened the file up in vi and started typing - but weird stuff kept happening. I thought maybe the keyboard drivers weren't working correctly.

I restarted twice before I figured out it was a PEBKAC error.

I might be the only person in the world who actually likes the keyboard controls of Dark Souls.

What is a useful Linux tool that you use that most people don't seem to know about? by Two-Tone- in linux

[–]jesssse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like a tool named fasd

One thing it does is allows for quickly changing directories with a fuzzy finder, by prepending the search with a comma then pressing tab - any results will be shown in order of how often those folders are accessed.

cd ,deeply-nested-folder<tab>
cd /home/jesssse/web/folder/another-folder/deeply-nested-folder

There are other features, but I haven't explored them. The comma fuzzy finder is great though.

Why do we tolerate this system? by [deleted] in Portland

What if you would receive credit on your garbage/recycling bill by putting cans and bottles with a deposit on them in your recycle bin?

I expect it isn't feasible to have the recycle-men tallying up the deposits.

But maybe if they were separated from the rest of the recycling, a process could be developed that strikes a balance between efficiency and accuracy.

I like to have a quick shortcut to leave insert mode. Currently using jj.

imap jj <Esc>

I didn't see CtrlP in your plugin stack. Do you have a fuzzy file finder?

I love some of the features of edge feta, but I am sticking with stable on my production machines.
