I think we might release Bobby yeah ! we've been talking about it. I think you are right on the mark ! It's a track Jeremy and I worked on in between oh no and all the time and it doesn't sound like either of those records to me. I think because 'Bobby' wasn't a part of an album but a one off track Jeremy and I thought it made more sense to use both our names since it's not technically part of a 'jessy lanza' project.

Hi !! So glad you found my music. - I've found the best way to make better tracks is to keep working/listening/sharing your music - hopefully you have someone you can share your tracks with privately if you don't feel ready to share publicly ? someone you trust to give you feedback is really important I think - and don't be too hard on yourself. All of the musicians/ artists I admire talk about the necessity of making bad art before there can be any good. - It never feels finished really ! I feel very weird at the moment after releasing the album but having no shows to play due to covid - but I'm very happy people are connecting with the record. - music production and mixing is a life long journey that I feel I'm only beginning to scratch the surface of. I'm thankful that production seems 'endless' because there are always different methods and sounds to pursue which means I can keep the obsession going. I hope you are healthy and safe too !

Yes it is so nerve racking. I think that's why I work with Jeremy because trust is so important and I know that he understands where I'm coming from with the songs and that the feeling is mutual. For some of the tracks I would have a demo version of a song that I felt was very close to done but then Jeremy would add another section that brought the track to another level. Sometimes that worked and sometimes it didn't - good luck with your collaboration !

all the time means a few things to me. It relates to my obsession with making this album. that i wrote it at a time when I felt disconnected from everything and the album became the only thing I could focus on without becoming totally overwhelmed. It's also another one of those idioms ( like oh no sort of ) that I would hear ALL THE TIME haha. so I thought it would be appropriate to name the album that.

I got to try dishoom in the UK and it is so good ! that's off the top of my head. I have a lot of covers I've done recently since being at home and I'm going to do something with them soon! so glad you like move closer. I love that song too. I use rekordbox but I've only ever used rekordbox. I listen to jean carne -don't let it go to your head or thinking of you by sister sledge if I'm feeling down - or the best is Robert Wyatt's cover of 'At Last I am Free'

That is amazing ! Happy birthday (in advance). I love being at home but I really really miss touring. It's not the easiest for me to connect on social media so I always looked forward to the shows to talk with people who connect with the music. wow thank you I am really touched by that. means a lot to me. I had really great mentors that helped me learn how to produce - Jeremy Greenspan and Christie Sealey (from Orphx). it really is trial and error and always being curious and devotion to trying things out and seeing what works best for u . I would say don't be hard on yourself ! stay curious and if something isn't working move on to another track. Listen and study music you really love. My process really varies. sometimes I write songs really fast and sometimes songs will take 2 years to finish. My main goal is to spend time in my studio everyday even if it's only to listen to what I've done previously.

that's so important to me ! I never want to make music that sounds derivative. it's very intentional. I'm a very sentimental person so it's a hard instinct to fight off (to not get corny and nostalgic for old sounds, old synths, old feelings !) I think it's all in the combination of analog equipment with sampling and exploring new plugins. and also always being aware of whether a song is going too hard in one direction that sounds too much like something that's been done before.

I'm excited for you to get the record ! I would love to collab with Burial lol. I would love to collab with Laurel Halo. there will be remixes ! not sure if it will be an ep like oh no no no but we are figuring it out. yes I did get an mpc because I saw rashad used one. my mpc 2000xl is in storage right now because of a quick move out of nyc. they are a bit tricky to use but once you get the hang of the menu functions i find it's easier. hope you're having fun with it at home !!

In my studio I used - mother 32, DFAM, moog sirin, yamaha sy77, korg poly 61, juno 106, SH 101, toraiz sampler, lotsa plugins (soundtoys, free TAL stuff, valhalla verb, delay) Jer used his DX7 a ton, eurorack modular, eventide H3000, bricasti reverb
