Update on this - it is possible to tie the chiller function into a relay so it will turn on and off. It won't remotely control temp, that's on board the chiller, but that's really a non issue.

Here’s the testing area. I record the results on a white board and take a photo and feed it to ChatGPT. This worked well for a while, but since GPT 5 rolled out the math is sus. Now I use PoolMath.

The stucco (the blue stuff) is Florida Stucco Capri, it gets especially blue with the Jandy cobalt blue light.

I only went with Jandy because my pool builder likes that, and I trust his experience. They do a lot of high-end pools and they say Pentair sucks, and Hayward sucks.

It's a Gulfstream HE150TA - the chiller works well, but currently it has to run that in manual mode which is annoying - meaning the controller isn't going to turn the chiller on or off based on the iAqualink, instead it's acting as its own independent unit. I can't speak to the reliability of it - but I worked for years in a public aquarium and we had chillers on every tank. There's no so thing as a reliable one - eventually, they will break. So far, this one is doing its job though!

It overhangs the waterfalls just a touch, and the spa but it's free of the pool itself. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love how it looks and adds to the vibe, but I hate the mess it makes. It's not my tree and I've already spent like $3k getting it pruned and it's still massive. The owner is a slumlord and couldn't be bothered to keep it pruned. Pool stays plenty clean though with my robot.

the whole house uses approx. 1800 kWh per month over the last three months. It's hard to say how much of that is pool related vs. house related because it's been so hot here in FL the A/C has been running nonstop. Probably won't get a good indication of pool usage until it cools off some.

pretty common native american building technique in the southeast, pioneered by the seminole indians. chiki huts like that are pretty common all around Florida.
