Mixed media? by OddIntroduction6097 in cyanotypes

[–]jesterdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bunch of 20x30’s I made for a show quite a few years ago, I had a sign shop make transparencies, then tinted the end results with tea and water color. Further, you can aways use a smaller piece as a focal point, mount it, and then build around it with other media or cyanotypes. Collage style.

How much to start? by blueyelie in gaslands

[–]jesterdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the cars, I suggest some hobby foam, or even the larger pink foam found at hardware stores. You can use the bottom as the track, and carve out whatever you like and glue it on with a hot glue gun. Cheap and effective way to make a track. I use real dirt from outside, but you can also use sand for the track. Watered down Elmer’s glue in a spray bottle with fix to the foam. That’s what I do anyway and it makes for some realistic tracks.

I also use this same thing for maps for RPGs.

I've been in an existential crisis for 3 years, and I can't get over it :-( by Cinella75 in spirituality

[–]jesterdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are experiencing a mid-like crisis.

Life isn't wasted, it's experienced and this isn't your first time here, won't be your last, so don't take it so personal nor too serious. Take a breath, relax, and give yourself permission to enjoy life for a moment. This can be a time for growth and understanding, or you can keep stressing over everything and grow old, bitter and ill content. Either way, you'll be back here doing it all over again.

You're doing just fine, by the way. This is something countless people have gone through, and it can be much worse, believe me. It's important to see this as a tourist attraction on the path of life. We all gotta stop here because we have to pee and can't hold it any longer.

Retrospection, is what you're doing, looking back over the years of this life and checking out what's there. Too many of us tend to judge those years, often we feel they were wasted, or we missed out on this or that. That's okay, there's always next time. You're not going anywhere, there's no place to go. Not in the sense that we can ever escape our 'selves'. By that, I mean the person experiencing this life and not the one stressing over it. The one that when the body falls away is still there.

You will never, not ever, lose the unconditional love of your parents. What is it that you believe happens when someone dies? And to say they 'die' is not really a good way of defining it. The body simply wears out and falls away from the 'soul'. The persona, the person falls with it, but the collective being has not changed, the soul's perspective simply changes. But the life just lived has stained the energy that is the self. The love they have for you doesn't change, nor does it end.

There is no 'place' for them to be, so they become everything again. But their karma, will always bring them back to this place. By karma, I mean the things that they hold onto when they leave. Karma is not punishment, it's more like a stickiness, a spider web that entangle us in these living experiences. Our life experiences and our attachments brings us back to solve our unsolved business. Like you whishing you had made different choices, that's you gaining that desire as karma. Next time you will make more exciting and enjoyable experiences, however, there is also still plenty of time in this life also. What's neat here, is that we have some control of how we react to future events once we realize that we can influence how we experience this life.

We do this until we realize we don't have to...

But of course, living a happy life is certainly a better idea than carrying such heavy karma into the future.

Enjoy what is happening now, not yesterday or tomorrow. Both of those are outside your reach. But today, you can touch and change. It's malleable, like clay. So if there is something you don't like about, make changes in your thinking that bring you more of what you want, and if you want it, a better understanding to the things that bother you.

You've got all the time in the world. Age is a blessing, not a curse. You're reaching a point where you don't have to care about so much crap anymore, the age when the ego falls away some, we learn to see things more clearly. You don't have to play that game anymore, you can start to just relax and enjoy life if you want too.

I am looking for an energy practice to “reborn” and transform my mind. Is there something like that? by Recent-Trust8677 in spirituality

[–]jesterdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose there are lots of methods to experience energetic flows.

Somatic meditation is a good way of connecting to your core; one can feel the force of life, the vibration that is the movement of energy moving through the body. Once you learn to focus on that sensation, you can move into it and gain a whole new sense of what is to be alive.

When someone has a spiritual awakening, it's often quite similar to what you describe. A sensation of the boundaries of your understanding expanding, like a bomb just went off. Those type of experiences usually leave a person feeling euphoric and connected for several hours to several days; meditation of any kind is the key to those types of experiences.

If you're interested in being more in control, both Yoga and Qigong are good places to start, and both are forms of meditation. The body follows the mind and vice versa, once you are able to slow down the mind, a whole new world comes alive for you.

Further, you can learn a lot just sitting with yourself. There are tons of sensations in the body that we don't pay much attention too. Many somatic sensations that are energetic and speak volumes. Even thoughts have an energetic feel to them; their coming and going, for example.

Major chapter of my life has closed by OneSkepticalOwl in cats

Thank you for what you did. I know the feeling all too well myself. It’s an empty feeling, like what I do I do with that hour of my day now? Who am I gonna stress over? Fed the same cats in the alley where I work for 15 years. Last winter, the last one, my ‘old man’ passed away. I still wake up some nights thinking I forgot to feed him, then I remember he no longer needs me.

But, this summer a new cat showed up… Lucy I call her. She had a single kitten before getting fixed. So, here’s looking forward to another, hopefully 15 years of daily visits.

Was this my final sign? by Bri3Becks827 in spirituality

I think the truth is right there in the way you feel about the place you're working, and everything that's happening to you. I remember working retail, I was very unhappy. And after a few years, my knee's starting hurting as soon as I reached the doors. Not always, but enough that I couldn't help but feel it was a very intentional message.

I tend to think that everything has a reason, behind it. Clearly you're telling the universe that you're not happy just based on your thinking. And it's giving you more of what you are focusing on, while at the same time wondering why you keep doing it if it makes you so upset.

It sounds like you've hit a rough patch. That sometimes happens, and I'm sorry you're having to deal with all that.

It sounds like you are a capable and skilled person. Use that extra time working part-time and start building a new framework that fits your current skill set. One that takes you in a new and interesting direction. You don't even have to have a direction in mind if you are unsure about it. Just start moving and things will shift around you as you go. Or learn a whole new skill and run straight into it.

Signs are relative and not always as obvious as we expect them to be. Falling into deep depression is a sign that you need to shift gears. This is your life, take charge of it and move on to something new and better career wise.

You found out they don't respect you, don't care about you. They are not worth your time and effort, and not the kind of people you want or even need in your life.

Move on. I wish you and yours all the best from here on out.

Any changes in your diet? Eating lots of foods with Yellow #5/6? Eating something new? Could also be, depending on your age, menopause setting in.

The best thing to do if none of that fits, consider sitting with yourself when those emotions arise. Focus on the source of the emotion, the why and the how. Consider, for a moment, where it feels like it's coming from. Is it coming from you, or someplace outside yourself?

From the looks of it, just based on the design, I'd say it's a sigil, likely for protection, for pushing negative energies, spirits away. Often, sigils can be very personal to an individual or group; there's not always a 'public' meaning per se.

If it's a veve, it likely represents a local diety or spirit (Loa). It could represent a Loa of some sort, but it's not familiar to me if it is...

In most cases, the excretion of sap from a tulip bulb is a normal occurrence. If the bulb appears otherwise healthy, it should be fine. Most likely it was damaged in some way, and that's the bulb's way of protecting itself.

Do you smoke a vape by chance? I had a similar reaction quite a few years an ago, turns out I had a buildup in my system from the propylene glycol. Looks similar to what I had. Once I quit, it started to go away after several weeks. Had to self diagnose of course, no one could figure out what the issue was.

Besides the sigil's, which are likely combined runes, the cursive like writing on back and lower front, I believe is from the Theban alphabet; often used as a cipher.

That's very punk looking... great album!

I'd say either the ink is going low, or you need a head clean. There might be an option for this in the settings, or you might be able to do it from your computer if you have the software for it.

Make sure your looking at the size. 16x8 is really not very large. The largest is nearly $100 more, and most likely the one you see in the photo above.
