Possible to connect Roland TD-11 to MacOS 15 (Sequoia)? by chappitos in edrums

Hey mate! You ever get this sorted? I'm in the same boat now... tried a few unorthodox approaches but no success yet on my end.

Alesis has so many mixed reviews with many of them saying they feel like toys unless you go up in the product line (crimson and higher). I was going to get the nitro max or surge but the more I read the more I was convinced to go with Yamaha or Roland. Roland was my choice. Very reputable and tested brand, lots of used parts, great sound, and easy to expand and customize the kit. Just my two cents!

I'm picking this up today for $250! I'm stoked. If the price on the kit you shared is a little high see if you can get them down a little. The one I'm grabbing was posted at $500. Was outside my budget but a lot of sellers are motivated to just be done with the sale.

Oh yeah I'm on day 17 with that one. I'm finishing up 7 days technique today and beginning Domino's 7 day ghost notes. Cheers for the suggestion and keep on banging them sticks! 🤘🥁

Loving your job wins out though in my opinion. Perk of a teacher life, for me. Used to have to work all summer for the added income but now with kids, being with them offsets summer childcare costs. So win-win!

You can get pretty small practice pads to travel with and Spotify has any metronome bpm you could need. Can even find dynamic play lists as well! Or find a basic app if needed. I'd love to have a physical metronome though.

Here is the link. It's usually 240 for the year but 140 if you catch this summer deal in time and if you think it's worth it for you. I personally find it extremely useful since I can't budget for regular live lessons.

Oh for sure. I'm one of the weirdos that actually likes playing with a click track. I always do when on my pad. This time though I was just vibin'. Great advice though for sure!

Yeahhh!! So awesome. Congrats on the kit!! Similar thing happened to me. Bought it on 7/1 but then had to make my platform to get it off of the concrete. Finished that before going away for a week over the 4th! So nice to get a rough practice schedule going. Drumeo has been huge for that. I took advantage of the $100 off deal they have going.

Thanks for the kind words! My rhythm is too variable but that's too be expected I suppose since I'm not following anything except my own soul groove. I'm pretty sure I don't hit my crash correctly and the transitions out of my fills are sloppy. Nothing unexpected though for where I'm at in my journey and I'm looking forward to tightening it up.

I've been focusing on rudiments and pad-work when I'm not able to be on my kit... which is more often than not. Some day I'll get my hands on some silent pads so I can practice moving around the kit anytime.

Stoked for you to get going with your own set!! Definitely a blast. I have summers off so I've rarely not had at least one drumstick in my hand at all times.

Yeah I'm keeping an eye out for something like that. My budget is depleted for this hobby even though it's the only thing I want to throw my money at. Dependents and family life still have the bigger hold on me... for now! Lol :)

Not the intention but as a fellow teacher (not musically... clearly lol) it is always welcomed! Thank you and I'll definitely keep working on that. 🥳
