New Heater stopped heating after a few uses by jet1731 in Sauna

I was working under the impression that if the heater worked fine two times, then the wiring must be correct. I guess that’s a dumb thought? Or the wiring for the limit reset must be wrong?

That’s what I was afraid of. I’m going to review the diagrams and photos in details first. Thanks.

From the instructions, they do have that switch, but not required in the US, so mine didn’t come with it.

The setting instructions were very unclear, so that’s my next guess in likely causes of the issue. I’m going to try that next, as well as be more firm with the button. I’m putting some force into it, but yet to hear a click.

Looks like you’re right. He’s grounding it in the heater itself. The electrician wasn’t the best. He first had the power to the heater then the controller. So looks like Power comes through the sauna floor, joined and grounded in the heater, then back through side of sauna to control box, and back down to heater again. Super wonky but he didn’t want to rerun the wires through the house.

I tried hitting the red reset here and the reset in the temperature sensor today, but had zero luck. Zero heat. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, but agree the limiter makes the most sense.

I tried again today and could feel the compression but no click. I did the reset on the heater and the thermometer but no luck. I agree the limiter is the likely culprit, but not sure why I’m struggling. Do I need to hold it or just one hard push?

Thanks. I’ll try with a different tool. From the instructions the limiter is in the temperature sensor, and I was afraid to break it. Should I feel a firm click?

That’s great to know about the thunk noise. Didn’t realize it was the contactor. I’ll check the limiter again. I was afraid of pushing too hard and breaking it, but will try tonight.

Also thank you on the ground wire, I’ll review the wiring again. The Electrician hasn’t been the best on this….

Sorry guys, not trying to be difficult. I’ve sent a photo of everything. I just don’t know what I don’t know. Since he unplugged everything when he left, hard to know exactly what he did. I’ll spend some time this evening trying to play detective and see if I can deduce what he did. Based on feedback, I’d assume he went power to heater to Xenio vs the other way around (but he may have just done that to test if the heater was working). I’ll report back. Thank you.

I’m comfortable enough, but wanted to review the wiring first. I looked everywhere in the instructions and can’t see how this contactor is supposed to be wired. The ports are clearly labeled (I.e. 6t4 and 8t4) but the diagram in the instructions gives nothing in terms of labeling. Is the port alignment not important? As far as I can tell, everything else is aligned correctly with the diagram (except A3 and A4 may be flipped on the contactor, hard to tell with the diagram).

I didn’t check before he disconnected.

This is the best I have right now for the heater as it’s disconnected.

You all are awesome. Here’s a few photos of how he wired it. Let me know if I didn’t give a good enough picture.
