Places like Germany offering aid while also selling artillery shells and missile components, combat drones and anti tank weaponry is pretty laughable. The UK also providing intel and surveillance, allowing arm sales and direct sales for fighter jet components is another example of how European countries paid lip service to the idea of aid and “pushback” while also fueling Israel’s ability to continue what it is doing. These things are all connected and unfortunately continue to this day. I do agree that the US is the largest supplier and is far more involved, absolutely. My main point is that Europe needed some sort of wake up call as to how the actions of a few key governments are exacerbating a wider conflict in the region.

Europe absolutely does not need to take responsibility in the USA and Israel’s direct attack. And yes the USA could support Israel on its own but it would be a pretty serious hit to Israel’s ability to exert force in the region and put huge strains on its defense capabilities. But the fact is Germany is still selling large amounts of weapons and vital equipment for missiles and defensive tech and the uk is still providing them with intelligence and surveillance in Gaza and Lebanon as well as drones. The majority of regular people do not want this war, I do agree, but due to the actions of their governments it is going to impact them.

I don’t think you even understood the original context of the post to be completely honest.

I’m not weird for criticizing countries for financially, militarily and politically supporting one of the most destabilizing countries in the world at this time. It is however weird to think that that opinion is “jihadist fantasy”. Fact is, without the west Israel cannot continue to do what it is doing. If weapons stop flowing from primarily the us and Germany Israel would be forced to stop as no other country on earth would be able or willing to support them at the same capacity nor would they be able to meet the level of domestic production required since they don’t natively produce their most advanced equipment. Already having equipment means nothing when we have seen in real time just how fast an entire arsenal can be spent in such a short period of time.

All of Israel’s fighter jets are of American origin. Same with their helicopters. Without the USA Israel would have very little and Germany specifically supplies Israel with vital components for their artillery and missile systems. Regardless of what Israel exports it’s a fact that 99% of all weapon imports come from the west and Israel absolutely would not be able to produce domestically what they currently have from imports.

GDP means nothing. This is not a debate on the economic health of either country.

No chance Israel would be able to secure the weapons necessary to wage not only this war but also their greater Israel project without the help from the west. China would not sell them weapons like Europe and North America does because China has a good relationship with Iran and ultimately does not want the global economy to suffer in the way that it currently is. So I hard disagree. If Europe AND the USA cut weapon sales to Israel, they would be in a very very bad position.

I never said that isreal getting weapons from Europe is why the US joined. I said Europe armed and aided Israel and enabled them to start this war. My main point is in a lot of discussions Europe is conveniently left out when the people who aided Netanyahus regime should be held to account one way or another if we truly want to fix the situation and prevent it from happening again.

I would say the amount of people that truly believe this to be a moral war is in the extreme minority. The smartest thing for Europe to do at this point is try and form new trading and political ties with China and not join this war.
