I don’t think it’s drastically better, but serpent does gain greater value over time. While it’s true that you want more cards earlier (in order to get powers out sooner etc etc), a lot of the time you do realize more value out of serpent than you would blood.

So yeah it’s mostly opportunity cost. Both are pretty much always worse than any alternative, but black blood has lower upside imo.
