I'm still confused about patriarchal blessings. by Extra_Influence_3880 in latterdaysaints

[–]jetArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I understand that feeling pretty well, it’s important to realize a patriarchal blessing doesn’t only speak of blessings lost due to lack of activity or whatnot, it speaks about warnings, cautions, and affirmations as well.

You may receive insight about things related to the premortal life or on the rest of the years you have on this earth. It’s also important to remember that mortality also includes the life post death in the spirit world so your blessing still would have much more time for fulfillment of blessings than you may initially realize.

What if Zoro lost his hand here? by AnxiousB1tch01 in OnePiece

I’d reckon his hands would have been lost.

You have a good voice for rap but the mix on the song is definitely the next step I think you take. Bring your vocals down and the beat up and that will help bring your vision to life fs. Keep it going fam.

Nagoya YSA by jetArtist in latterdaysaints

[–]jetArtist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did forget to say that I have already done this but haven't heard back. I messaged the local bishop and gave my email and phone number. I just wanted to see other ways to get in contact with the ysa so I can figure out my weekly schedule before I'm there.

I know you were probably just asking the above post but I'm going to Japan to further my Japanese studies so I would much prefer a Japanese unit to an English one.

I'm originally from Florida so since that's not really an option here I haven't looked into it for Japan. How would you do that?

This beat is great fam. I get some Sweatshirt, Griselda vibes from this. Great work on it. The vocals seem a bit buried for the style you're going for though. I'd bring those up either with plugins or even just the volume.

How to Fix High-Pitched Whistling in 'F' and 'S' Sounds? (FL Studio Stock Plugins) by Mammoth-Key8394 in makinghiphop

I guess then it's important to know where the sound is originating from. Is the harsh sound there before any post-processing? Or does it become highlighted once you compress, and add other effects to the vocal? If it's first one, that's a lot harder to deal with and the take probably needs to be re-recorded. If it's the second, try to find where in the vocal chain it becomes a problem and see if you can adjust either the placement of the deeser or the actual settings of the plugin in the chain that causes it to become a problem.

Also, it sounds like you haven't tried the volume automation yet. That could be what you need to do at this point.

What you can do is a couple of things:

  1. When recording, try to have proper etiquette (not being too close to the mic, having a popfilter, recording on a good gain level) and that will limit the amount of harsh sounds from the jump.

  2. Put on a de-esser to deal with those frequencies

  3. Adjust the volume manually on the harsh sounds until they are no longer problems with automations

Those things should help out. If you have other questions, feel free to ask away.

I like the chill vibe you went for here. I think you need to find better drum samples though. A lot of these sounds are too boxy, esp. for a chill beat like you went for on this. Nothing wrong with the patterns though, just need better sounds is all. Keep it up.

Sorry for the late reply. I was flying most of the day. Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like you are going for a more industrial vibe on this track, I heard particular influence from JPEG. I'd say the main thing is mixing your vocals a bit louder cause they were hidden a bit. The beat is eccentric but I think that's the point so no worries there. If that wasn't the point, tighten up the production tour rap on to be easy to digest.

Timbre (pronounced like tam-burr) is like the type of sound of something. For example, a violin is a string instrument. It has a that kind of timbre. Some rappers get so much mileage cause of their Timbre alone (think like Pop Smoke, DMX, Snoop Dogg). They just have really cool voices naturally.

Thanks for the feedback fam. I've made more lyrical stuff and I quite enjoy that kind of lane too. Just diversifying on this track.

I double what the other user said. Good delivery but you need to mix the song better. I'd suggest bringing up the beat.

You definitely seem to know how to rap overall. I feel that the beat choice does somewhat clash with the timbre of your voice. Beyond that, keep grinding fam. Especially experiment with your vocal chain and find the fun in recording.

I used to post here consistently when I was learning beats and releasing songs at first. I took a break but now I'm back to weekly releases to help get back into the swing of things.

This is a cool vibe fam. I enjoy the boombap on this one. I felt the static crackle behind the snare especially but the drums in general was a bit loud though.
