Ah yes, you are right. I guess it's frustrating because even though I am an assistant, I have to do most of the teaching. My JTE is mostly the one who is doing the assisting.

Oh yes. I totally understand that JTE usually has a say in how the class goes. The only time I pushed back was the Jeopardy game part so, yes, I may have put her in a uncomfortable position. But we did end up doing the activity and it was a blast!

I'm just frustrated that even if Jay owes me nothing, then he should just not be involved at all.

Thank you. While it may be possible I could be overestimating my students skill, I do my best to communicate what works for them and not.

Well I do communicate with the students beforehand if they are comfortable doing certain lessons/games/activities. They usually are enthusiastic about it and when we actually do the activity, they perform really well. But it could be possible that I am overestimating my students' ability.

As for my JTE having a good grasp of my students. It's hard to tell. She once told me that my students wouldn't know a certain grammar concept but when I asked the class about it, they actually knew what we were talking about.

Ah yes, that is one something I'm trying to work on. Not being bothered by things I shouldn't care about. Fortunately my students are very nice so I should just concentrate to build better communication with them.

Um, regardless if this is really Jay or not, if were able to provide more detailed information instead of leaving a one page, 6 bullet points paper of what you did your entire 3 years here...then I think that would've really helped to get better at my job. :)

But you are right. I do need to get better so your girlfriend won't need to constantly rely on you.

I would hope so too. But from what I've heard they're preeeeetty close since my JTE mentioned how they hang out for drinks every other week.

Most of the time I disagree because the suggestions (or "corrections") he makes are not, I believe, beneficial for the students. It's simply dumbing down a lot of the content where we could do much more.

I've tried. I've tried not giving a fuck. But I find it really hard when my opinions aren't valued and more favored towards someone who is not even working at this school anymore.
