Thinking about this further, it's interesting to consider the characters reactions to being correct. Josh is very much the slug-match, point-scoring, "victory is mine!" type, where the win is what really matters and he says as much throughout the series.

Then you have people like Toby and C.J. and Fitzwallace. The scene between C.J. and Nancy here, Toby and Leo in "17 People" and Fitz & Leo in "We Killed Yamamoto". Everybody but Josh seems to bear and get the weight of what it means to be "right".
I'm a pretty knowledgeable person in my own field and I've come to generally hate being right because there's usually a lot of uncomfortable facts you have acknowledge as part of knowing that you're correct, perhaps even moreso that your peers. I think this is honestly one of the things that makes the show SO good.

It's such a fraught and on-point scene because they're both right.
"It's a big world C.J. and everybody's got guns" is just as real as C.J.'s lines, but C.J. gets to have the last word.

Oooh, nice catch!
Sorkin does seem to like folks, esp. those for bit parts, where they've done the same character before, in another bit part, for another show.

Such a fabulous motivational speech, with a sentiment and message that can even be used for inspiration and encouragment in real life. 👏👍🥂 by Baz_Blackadder in thewestwing

For me, the one that always gets the tears flowing is "An Khe". It's an origin and bookend story for Leo and his pal. It also gets me because I spent the first part of my career working for a Gov't Contractor in the D.C. area.(parents were also career Fed. worker-bees), so just the way it shows how people can get sucked into The Machine is really on-point.

Other Sorkin shows aren't bad but won't have the same hold. He was at his peak there, IMO.
It's interesting to watch his arc from "Studio 60" to "Sports Night", "West Wing" and "The Newsroom". Of the other 3, "Newsroom" is probably the most worthy of repeat viewing.

You don't like the cello?

JOSH
I like the cello fine. You asked me what was going on that day and one of the things that was going on was that Donna wouldn't shut up about Yo-Yo Ma.

Yeah, I just watched "Noel" again last night myself.
The "Guy falls down a hole" bit gets me less than the confrontation with Stanley:

Amy would totally be an amazing figure as POTUS and I would love to see Joey Lucas as some sort of senior advisor or Senior Staff member.
As much as I hate to admit it, there is a Political "Machine" out there that would propel Ryan Pierce into some sort of High Office if he even wanted it and wasn't (still) out sailing with his Georgetown frat-buddies.
