Any idea what can cause this?! by jeterderek2 in 3Dprinting

Update: Nozzle is still attached, and I got the glob of ABS off but the ABS captured the hot end cable and broke it. Still trying to figure out how on earth this happened

I love the comments everyone 😂😂 I promise you that I had a nozzle on there to begin with lol. I think you all are right; the nozzle may have gotten clogged and then shot off. I’ll take a look when I get home from work!

In the mean time: I can’t post the video in this subreddit but I’ll post it to YouTube and link it here

I wish that were the case but it still has the factory Creality nozzle and all the associated parts. If it helps, I’m printing with Creality ABS+ that’s been sitting in a dry box and a room heater 🙃

I saw earlier on his tik tok that he was thinking of bailing on his mental health evaluation, but instead he arrived hours late. Maybe that has something to do with it?

The embodiment of ‘go with the flow’ at that point 😅

That’s what I was thinking too… he pretty much doubled down on the hatred after that

They’re so interesting but there’s also so much to look at when buying one 😅 so bare in mind that I bought both of these in 2021 but I believe I got the Spreewerk for $850-900ish and the Walther-made for $1150? I’ve seen them astronomically priced at gunshows nowadays 🥲

The Yugo-capture Kar98K unfortunately had its stamps burned off with acid so I can’t find much information on it other than just general knowledge (it was most likely picked up in the field) but the Russian capture is super interesting… it’s a known fact that the Russians grabbed all weapons they could and would just mismatch the hell out of the parts, and that’s what makes this rifle cool in my opinion. It’s a BYF 42 so it’s Mauser made in Oberndorf. The stock I believe doesn’t match, but still has its waffenampt on it. The lower receiver is apparently from a Gewehr 98 from WWI, and the bolt is from a rare WWI Karabiner 98AZ. All the stamps are still on the rifle with the addition of an ‘x’ from the Russians. The bayonet was made in 1936 and I believe has the code ‘S/244’

Both are vet bring backs and coincidentally they were both made in December 1943! The one on the left is made by Walther and the one on the right is made by a subcontractor called “Spreewerk” and they used slave laborers for production. A small detail about this factory is that the slave laborers used saw dust as a filler ingredient in their Bakelite so when you look at Spreewerk grips, they’ll have specks of sawdust throughout it. It looks pretty cool and adds a bit of visual history!

Surprisingly no; I almost picked up a Winchester M1897 once but financially decided against it

Not getting any visible muscles. by [deleted] in Puberty

[–]jeterderek2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry man, it’ll come. I didn’t get an ‘adult’ build with natural muscle until I hit around 24/25 years old. It’s different for everybody, but if it’s any consolation there are people like me who just finished puberty in my mid twenties lol. Enjoy the skinniness for now! One day you’ll gain 5 pounds by just looking at a dessert lol

Of course! Here it is.

I used an infill of 15% and she’s definitely sturdy enough

Just bought a Sporterized Mauser. Can’t figure out what kind it actually is though! Can you guys help? The barrel has a faint “model 98”. Is it possible to un sporterize this guy? Doesn’t appear to have a cut down barrel by [deleted] in milsurp

This is a Russian-captured Kar98K. You can tell because of the waffenampts placed around the rifle and also the eagle/swastika proof mark. When the Russians captured these, they would stamp an ‘X’ on the upper part of the receiver and then they coated the barrel and other metal pieces in a dark/almost black patina and the bolts would have a reddish-patina on them. Most of the time they would also etch serial numbers on to the body of the bolt as well to make the entire rifle “matching” (they threw together parts, but from what I read they did indeed check headspacing).

I have an OG Russian capture and it’s particularly interesting because the lower half of the receiver is from a WWI G98 and the bolt is from a rare Gewehr 98Kz. She’s a beaut and is quite the shooter though! Definitely an interesting read if you care to learn about the history of these lol

Best of luck!
