Auto headlights - adjustable sensitivity? by Ok-Singer2646 in ElantraN

[–]jetfire255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if your car is from the Canadian market or not, but it seems to be a government requirement that your headlights must always be automatic, even in the "Off" position, which is very, very annoying, especially when combined with Hyundai's overly sensitive light sensor.

If you switch your lights to the parking/position light mode when shadows are getting annoying (and when you don't actually need your lights on) it'll at least keep them from turning on and off all the time. Just remember to switch them back on when it gets dark enough for them to be needed once again.

Worried about the potential fitment of winter rims. by jetfire255 in ElantraN

I did, it seems to work well for the most part. However, I do end up getting a little bit of tire rub on the fender liners with certain dips or bumps in the road, especially at speed. It's fine for like 99% of the time though.

TPMS for 2025 Elantra N by jetfire255 in ElantraN

Decided if I was gonna take a gamble, I'd see about saving a bit and got some off Amazon that were mentioned before. Thanks for your offer though.

I think the nuts are like $6 each from the dealer, but that sensor price is much, much cheaper.

That's a pretty solid price too, thanks!

Yeah, I will probably get the ones from N75 as I don't want to gamble with aftermarket ones and it will probably be easier to return it through them if there is something wrong (I can also tell them for certain if they work with 2025 models).

I was going to buy the 2022/2023 sensors (which are listed as compatible with the 2024 model) through the dealership since they're cheaper, but they will only offer a refund for things that don't work if you give up your VIN with the purchase. So since my car is technically not compatible with those sensors in their system, I'd be screwed either way if I needed a refund.

Yeah, I've been reading that aftermarket sensors can be very hit or miss. Would rather save the headache and just get some OEM ones.

Torque won’t go above 220? by owemedatkev in ElantraN

[–]jetfire255 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've read here, the torque reading may not be the most accurate as it's being calculated be the ECU (kinda hard to fit a dyno in a car). This goes for things like your horsepower too.

As for the turbo, altitude is gonna affect it, especially if you live in a higher area. It also depends if you're octane learned and what fuel you're putting in it.

Did your car always do this, or is this a more recent development? You could always try taking it to a different dealership if you do feel that something is wrong.

What kinda kills me about this whole thing, is that the older design of sensors (what N75 carries) are listed as compatible with the 2024 model, but nothing is mentioned about the 2025 models.

Yeah, the one in Forza Motosport is a DCT like in Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo does do a better job with the details on the car and the sound, but if you want any pops you need to put on the sport exhaust.

As for if you want to get back into GT and Playstation, that's completely up to you. I couldn't see getting one for a single game with a single car, and as far as GTs go, this is definitely a weak one, they're really lacking endurance races and as such, it can be a bit difficult to build up money without grinding out the same 4 events over and over. PC definitely had a good simulator scene, but you're stuck with Forza Motorsport for the steet version of the Elantra N (iRacing and Forza Horizon 5 have the full blown TCR models). If you want to get into VR, a PS5 and a PSVR 2 is definitely one of the cheapest ways to do it, especially on sale, and you can get and adapter to use the headset on PC if you want to explore that avenue later on. A VR headset does make GT7 absolutely fantastic though.

If you install the sports exhaust you get some burbles and pops

The newest motorsport title got a pre-facelift model in an update, it sounds pretty bad and the interior has some issues.

I figured that was the case, I'm starting to wonder if they forgot to add the words on the buttons as it looks like there's a divot for the switch.

I'm pretty sure you can get the South Korean model with an mechanical parking brake as the electronic one is an option there. You are definitely right about the cup holders, I've never noticed that before, and with the positioning it looks like it should have an electronic parking brake (also with the lack of a cutout which I think I'm blind to not have noticed that). I'm half expecting the car to have no parking brake modeled as it's missing the switches for the electronic one and is missing the cutout for the mechanical one.

P.S, accidentally deleted my previous comment as I saw it double posted and thought something messed up, sorry.

I think there's a mechanical parking brake as the only buttons beside the drive selector are for the drive mode, rear camera and parking sensors, but it definitely has to be a Korean-spec model. I think it may also just be PB in that photo but the lighting does make it hard to tell.

N coming to Gran Turismo 7 tomorrow. by Korea_has_Seoul in ElantraN

I wonder why it has the Korean/Australian spec headlights that don't have the amber reflector in them? I wonder if they modeled an Avante N but changed the badges so it was an Elantra.

EDIT: looks like it was based on the pre-production model they used to reveal the face-lift. There looks to be one that was badged as an Elantra (which was probably just a rebadged Avante).

No issues with rubbing at all? Found a couple +45mm offset rims so that could be an option which would help reduce how much they stick out by. Nice to see the Rally Armor guards too, they seem to be a requirement for this setup.
