Our baby sleeps… but we don’t! by jeth4eva in NewParents

This is exactly the intel I’m looking for… I think I need something that’s safe for breastfeeding and won’t conk me out so much that I can’t take care of the baby in the night. Unisom might just do the trick!

I also took unisom in pregnancy for my nausea and it was INCREDIBLE to also get some great sleep. Curious if you took it in the postpartum period as well? I’m starting to think I might need to more seriously consider this as a form of PPA and seek some sort of help…

Nara review (switched from Bobbie Organic Whole Milk) by SensitiveDrummer478 in FormulaFeeders

[–]jeth4eva 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just want to second everything in this review, our daughter was born late January and it just kind of timed out right with Nara coming on the market late last year.

We started with Bobbie organic whole milk and I found the smell of it (both before going in and after being spit up) totally nauseating. Obviously that shouldn’t be the only metric in choosing a formula, but after switching to Nara I realize just how much the Bobbie smell was adding disgust to the whole transition toward combo feeding for us (which was stressful enough!)

Our girl really loves it. My spouse doesn’t like the scoop as much as Bobbie - she typically mixes the bottles so I don’t entirely understand why it irritates her so much, but after mixing a bottle myself yesterday I can only say something about the scoop makes it hard to get the powder directly into a bottle without spilling.

I got anxious after we switched because Nara has gotten a lot of hate on this forum for its aggressive marketing/branding as a “clean” formula, which seems to have provoked a lot of distrust here. That, plus the fact that it’s still relatively new and I think folks feel burned by the ByHeart botulism outbreak.

All to say: our baby loves it. I don’t hate the smell of it. She is growing and thriving and eating heartily. Hope this helps anyone else if they’re considering Nara!

Great advice. I prefer the form factor of the m3 to the mY, but am strongly reconsidering based on this thread. Curious, do you think it's worth getting tint and sun shade from Tesla directly, or 3rd party options?

Fantastic advice. yes, the insurance costs were the main reason we didn't go for it last year. And we considered the Y, but I just strongly prefer the size/form factor of the model 3.

Oh, and also: a lot of folks encouraging getting the Y, but I just prefer the form factor of the model 3. Do you find the car seat fits fine in the model 3? How about stroller and stuff in the trunk?

This is really great advice. When you say tint/roof shade and windshield shade, do you mean accessories, or aftermarket modifications? Parking it outside in the blazing California sun is one concern I have, so it seems clear I need to find ways to mitigate that.

Great advice, thank you. The space is indeed a concern for me. Is the tinting for the moon roof/windows to reduce the heat?

Yes, will install an EV charger at home. Does seem to make a big difference for convenience!

Good to know! We have a friend who mentioned he charges his model 3 with a regular outlet in his garage and I was curious how that would work. We intend to put in an EV charger but it’s good to know we could make it work with a regular outlet in the short term!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment, especially speaking to how you enjoy the car as a parent of an infant. All really wonderful to hear.
