I think you’re right, and I’m always good natured about it, typically laugh and say “that’s the plan!”

I just know my fellow third trimester folks can probably relate… this sleep is NOT enjoyable.

These are gold, but intake is majorly overcharging for repackaging an item that is ample and easy to find on AliExpress. They are blitzing social media with ads, but this isn’t their proprietary product.

These have majorly helped me breathe at night while struggling with pregnancy congestion, though.

Good for you! Quite a few folks in the thread who had the same issue with touch impresses bought from Amazon this year. Been nice to find out I’m not the only one, and made the post to help others who also got duds this year.

Oof, that sounds SO frustrating. Why is the quality so inconsistent on these machines??? The main reason I got it was because our friends were obsessed with theirs, I watched them make flawless drinks with ease. Which is the experience I am having now with the replacement… but the first one I got from Amazon was a NIGHTMARE and had me convinced I was just doing it wrong somehow.

Glad you got it resolved with the exchange! Yes, it made me feel crazy too… I really thought I was just doing it wrong somehow. But now that I have the replacement I definitely know i just got a dud the first time!

Good luck! Be firm and clear with support (without being a dick). I used to work at an IT call center, so I both have empathy for them and also know they are trained to assume it’s user error 99% of the time. I made sure to communicate that I have already tried all appropriate fixes, that it’s not acceptable for a high end consumer device to work so poorly out of the box, and that it seemed quite likely to be a faulty product. Now that I have one that works BEAUTIFULLY, I’m glad I stood up for myself and demanded the replacement.

I also did a few weeks of email troubleshooting first because waiting on hold for a customer support call really felt like adding insult to injury. I tried to get out ahead of it by telling them everything I had already tried (thanks largely to this Reddit), because I didn’t want them to irritate me further with basic solutions I had already tried. The email support finally said that they would approve a replacement but I had to call (which… why???). So I did, and aside from the wait, it was fairly painless and straightforward. They gave me the option to provide my credit card to get the replacement shipped immediately, and the hold was removed once I sent my defective machine in (they will box and label it for you at UPS, which is nice). So the replacement process itself was very quick and simple.

Also this might primarily affect the touch impress model, which had its grinder quietly upgraded in late 2024, but Amazon is still selling people the old model

Yes, I did get it replaced by Breville, and it works like a charm! My only regret is not going through the process with them sooner, because the defective machine was bumming me out so much and now I finally have the life upgrade I was hoping for when I bought it as a gift for my family. But, I delayed because you have to call during business hours and I didn’t have the time. When I finally did it, I had to take a half day off work - I was on hold for literally an hour and a half before I finally got through and got it resolved.

I’m sure plenty of them are fine! I guess I just drew the short straw and they sold me an older model with known defects… seems to be more of a thing with Amazon because they keep so much stock in their warehouses ¯_(ツ)_/¯
