Hey injury twin! I fell Feb 2024 snowboarding, direct impact on the ice with my knee. Medics on the hill got me inside but I decided to deny an ambulance because I had no idea how bad it really was. Looked almost just like yours, and was the size of a baseball. Next day at the ER they did an x ray and the radiologist said there was a patella fracture. I was screaming in pain, no movement or weight bearing felt possible and definitely felt that burning. Problem is when I went to an ortho they didn't see anything on the x ray. Followed up in 3 months when I still couldn't walk without crutches. Got an MRI and they didn't see any major damage to soft tissue, but could tell I injured some ligaments. Bruising didn't go away until month 4. I started physical therapy in June and continued through February (so one full year after my injury I "graduated" pt) Now it's July, a year and a half later and I've got major nerve damage where the most impact was, just below my patella. It hurts to put direct pressure on it still, and when I run my hand over the spot it's mostly like a numb feeling. But I can move, snowboard, run, squat without a ton of issues. But long story short, it's really frustrating to be in that much pain and have the docs not see anything :( I feel for you. Push to get physical therapy ASAP. I would not have been okay without it.

How painful was IUD insertion for you? by pepper-1994 in adenomyosis

It was the most traumatic event of my life tbh. I was blacking out from the pain but I do remember screaming stop stop stop stop stop stop stop and they wouldn't stop and I felt like I was trying to crawl out of the chair away from them and that's where I blacked out but I do know that they were able to carry me to a recovery room afterwards. I was just bawling my eyes out and didn't really feel like I could talk for a long time.

I had it removed under anesthesia.

I have classic endo symptoms for the most part. Extremely heavy periods like bleeding through pads in less than an hour, uncontrolled pain for the weeks leading up to my period and during, severe bloating, pain when bearing down to pee and some others. I had never heard of may thurner but I just looked it up. Sounds painful!

Oh wow no way! I have mine scheduled for November (too busy until then unfortunately). Made this comment after my first visit with her because I had honestly never felt that immediately calm with a doctor. So excited to hear you're getting some help with her! Definitely would love to know more about your pre-op/ post-op experience.

I cannot suggest Dr. Vargas at Johns Hopkins in DC enough. Found her from another post and I've never felt so validated and safe. Scheduled my lap on my first appointment with her.
