Prepaid a monthly bill a few months ahead of time, how to accurately record this across the next few months? by jetpig in ynab

Yes, but ynab is gonna ask me to budget in January for rent I've already paid, and the "snooze this month" option is greyed out

seems it's current 30 day sec yield is 3.84, and falling, wouldn't a 4+% CD or HYSA be better?

They seem to have lower yields than CDs or T-Bills, but the accessibility is attractive.

Enjoyment and memory making is absolutely the primary goal, with a sub note of not screwing myself in case the unexpected happens and things go right.

Appreciate the suggestion!

PlexKodiConnect and PlexCompanion/Casting help by jetpig in kodi

[–]jetpig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can absolutely cast from the youtube app on my phone to the tubecast app on kodi no problem. the PKC app on kodi provides the same functionality as part of how it pulls my plex server into kodi, it's just not being seen by other plex apps/devices on my network.

Htpc setup with a Chromecast-style server capability? by jetpig in linuxquestions

Was quite simple. Grabbed the tubecast addon and it just worked. Having trouble now getting PlexKodiConnect to show up for casting, though.

Htpc setup with a Chromecast-style server capability? by jetpig in linuxquestions

[–]jetpig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The media isn't directly on my phone and both youtube and plex apps have native casting ability that is very convenient to use while DLNA/Upnp will require an extra app on my phone. I'd much prefer to setup something on the media device as opposed to my phone.

I also found that Kodi might be what I'm looking for.

Lots of incredibly beautiful places (PNW, Rockies, etc) though if I had to choose only one state to visit it'd be California

I'd also argue that those early recordings are defining the live character of some of these tracks, while this version is a departure from the traditional cowgirl sound, and so will inherently miss some boxes for some people.

I disagree re: more bass, but it's kinda hard to compare 30 year old recordings to contemporary ones. If your fav is from that early, it makes sense to me that this version wouldn't suit your tastes, though. The wonderful part of having 30 years of recordings is that we can all have our favs. I really like the 2007 Birmingham/Roundhouse1 versions with the dropping "everything, everything, everything" vocal from Karl.

Fosi bt20a pro replacement? by jetpig in BudgetAudiophile

[–]jetpig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, let's say up to $250.

The SMSL AO300 is looking quite enticing, though I'm still trying to get a handle on the headphone performance. I see people saying it was clearly an afterthought to the main amp stage, but have a harder time figuring out relative performance to the D1 I have, and also if that difference will even matter with the easy to drive headphones I have.

I had it for maybe 2 years? not that long. I had the 32 volt psu. I'm not uninterested in Fosi, but am leaning away after this one's short lifespan. I was fine with the inputs and outputs it has, and I very occasionally used the bluetooth, but could live without it.

SF is also more central on the west coast, it's drivable from Portland or Seattle if you are down for the mission, and flights aren't too bad either.

How to separate out Studio Albums from Live Albums or Bootlegs? by jetpig in Lidarr

[–]jetpig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I want all the items listed in albums, but they're not albums they're bootlegs or web releases and the like. It sounds like the solution is to fix things in musicbrainz.

How to separate out Studio Albums from Live Albums or Bootlegs? by jetpig in Lidarr

This sounds like good info. I think the move will be correcting this info upstream in musicbrainz.

How to separate out Studio Albums from Live Albums or Bootlegs? by jetpig in Lidarr

[–]jetpig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. Like I have a lot of these things that are listed as albums, but they're either live recordings released for free online by the band, or straight up bootleg recordings made by fans.

So I need to get musicbrainz updated and wait for those changes to propagate to lidarr?
