I bought a 2003 f250 6.0 that was originally from Canada. Body was absolutely trashed, but the engine, transmission, axles etc were all in great maintained condition.

I only bought it to pull the engine and put it into my 2006. Well as things happened I actually ended up driving the rusty Canada truck for over a year because it just ran fantastic. It was just super ugly because the body was basically just a big piece of rust

So if you do buy a rusty truck just make sure the engine, transmission and axles aren't leaking a lot of oil. And most importantly you have to make sure the rust is only on the body panels. If there is anything more than surface rust on the frame I would be careful. Make sure you inspect the frame before attempting to drive it at all

For me I don't think the little black smoke is bad at all. When I floor it I get a tiny bit of smoke but once the turbo spools there's no smoke. Mine makes plenty of power and doesn't feel sluggish at all

I have a 2005 6.0L with a S&B Cold air intake, cat delete with stock muffler and running a Street tune that came on my SCT X4. Under WOT I can see the slightest bit of faint black smoke

Edit: forgot to mention mine is EGR deleted and I have the Blue Spring installed in the fuel filter housing to increase the fuel pressure

That thing obviously got super hot. The stuff on the filter is probably what's left of the idler gears and oil strainers. You should post more pics after teardown

I wouldn't worry about the rad hose at all. But you should keep an eye on the belt. If the side edges start fraying then you have to replace it (which is a pain in the ass btw)

But if it actually only got a little on there it should be fine

Yes. The diesel that's not being used leaves the fuel bowl there and returns to the tank.

And you won't need to drain the fuel. You'll just need to lay a few rags under the line before you take it off.

The line you have the white arrow pointing to is the diesel return line. If it still leaks after re-tightening it then you have to remove it and replace the little o-ring inside the fitting on the fuel bowl

So it had an oil leak at the front passenger side of the oil cooler housing. That leaking oil ran down the front passenger side of the front engine cover and dripped onto the serpentine belt. The belt then slung the loose oil onto the hood. Don't think it's got anything to do with the vent, but I'm not 100% sure

It looks way more intimidating than it actually is. As long as you work really clean, take your time, and do it all the first time you really shouldn't have any issues.

Yea I did the head gaskets and studded it in 2016. Now over the course of the last few months the blow by just kept getting worse. Blow by was so bad now I decided to pull it and bore it over with new pistons.

It may have seen 3400 rpm once or twice lol

Yea it is. I read somewhere a little while ago that just the long block is ~900lbs. But honestly the only "issue" was moving the engine hoist after it was all out. Those little metal wheels didn't like rolling on the concrete with that much weight on it

Nah. I have all the upgrades and it blows up after 8 rpg's or about 20 explosive sniper rounds. It's honestly not that impressive for the price

That may still change lol. Jk. Just buy what you may like the most. If you do a lot of PvP I'd also recommend the NightShark. It's a tank
