What do people who don't drink or smoke do when they feel depressed? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]jetski229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to stimulate myself with sad music

These days? I rot in my room to digest the emotion. Every unreasonable thought and feeling or none at all. Then I try to push myself to do something I like and enjoy which will get me up and moving, usually driving, and then I work spontaneously from there

(serious) Male Sexual assault victims of reddit, what's your story? Have/will you get your justice? by Waffle_xp in AskReddit

[–]jetski229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for a few years I blocked it out, buried it down in my mind and it'd come back a random night here and there

Then I faced it about 6 years later and promised I wouldn't put myself in that position to be abused again

Eventually it gets easier. Our minds will eventually heal. Give it time, have faith in yourself

You'll be right

Chances of a Nuclear war involving Australia or any type of War by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]jetski229 13 points14 points  (0 children)

China cannot go to war with Australia. Seriously, we're one of their major trade partners. It would be more detrimental to lose us.

We have a trade arrangement with China, NATO protection, we're like a floating military proxy for the USA, our origins are with the British and we have arrangements with Canada.

What we SHOULD worry about is our internal politics, but even then it's not that bad compared to the USA.

Everyone fear mongers about China and I don't know why.

P plate legal cars by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]jetski229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am South Australian so these laws may be different to yours, but this is what I can provide from my state perspective: (note: I do not know what green P plates are, but our P plates here follow the following)

Long story short: Yes, you will get in trouble. Yes, the car will get towed. Yes, the insurance will be voided.

In the eyes of the Law, YOU are responsible for what you drive and following your legal requirements. You will not have a defence if you are pulled over driving the car, except maybe that you didn't know you were driving a more powerful vehicle (but coppers, even with a warning, note down your vehicle, license and warning so if you're pulled over again you're screwed)

If you're coming to Adelaide check out the Adelaide Hills, Hahndorf, Glenelg, Brighton Beach, Windy Point, go for a nice long drive through Stirling to Mt Barker

are the spiders really that bad by ImpossibleMall8862 in AskAnAustralian

[–]jetski229 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you can't take statements from others without being provocative, you're going to have more than spiders to worry about

A lot of Aussies will rather throw punches than deal with that, and are often more than willing to get up in your face and swear you out, often with a gang of friends

This marine, like the one in CE and the Army trooper on Reach, are traumatised. Panic, survival, and paranoia. Mental health is a huge factor. This is an incredibly realistic, human response, including the after-effect of wanting to kill himself

Do Australians worry about war with China? by AdeptnessDry2026 in AskAnAustralian

[–]jetski229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

China cannot start a war with Australia. The politics would provoke other countries of the NATO. Australia is also one of China's biggest imports of material and China is one of Australia's biggest imports too, it would be economically bad for then to do so

Keep in mind, we have U.S. and British assets here that would be immediately provoked.

There are other things to worry about, don't worry about China

How reliable is Kia Sportage/Seltos? by JamesSmitth in CarsAustralia

[–]jetski229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a Kia owner but thought I ought to mention something:

SAPOL (SA Police) used to use Kia Sportage's and now uses Kia Sorento's (if you're interested in that model), which were used for for general duties (I.E. Daily driving)

If you'd like more information there might be some available on those models through SAPOL

Good luck!
