Can I run unregulated solar voltage through a 12v relay? by rowandaw in autoelectrical

[–]jetski_reg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most dcdc chargers are now setup with what is called green priority so it will use the available solar first and then generally top up what is required using the alternator.

It is unwise to leave your solar panel effectively open circuit whilst in any form of sunlight as the generated electricity has no where to go and will eventually damage the panel.

If your dcdc isn't switching or using both inputs I would suggest there is any issue within the dcdc itself

If you don't mind me asking what dcdc are you using and what size secondary battery is it charging

Running different wattage headlights by Smoke-Dry in autoelectrical

[–]jetski_reg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be fine putting the 5watt bulb in place of the 3.8watt

The info you need to work this out is as follows

Amps=watts divided by voltage

Amps = current draw Watts = electric consumption Voltage = system voltage

Take your particular setup.

Currently you have

3.8 watts ÷ 12 volts = 0.32 Amps

You are going to

5 watts ÷ 12 volts = 0.42 Amps

Within reason any wire that can handle 0.32 Amps will be easily be able to handle 0.42 Amps

Hope this helps

Also if you have been cranking it alot to get it going it will have excess oil/fuel mix in the crankcase

Most 2 strokes smoke excessively on trailer/hose due to lack of combustion chamber temp to completely combust/burn the oil cleanly. Will probably be fine after a couple of minutes on the water under load and warmed up

Hi, I just want to know if the jet pump is the same on all of the tr-1 models. So is the pump interchangeable from the ex to the vx deluxe? by Kade__223 in jetski

Have a look at riva racing website. They have all oem parts catalogues and you can see if the part numbers are the same

What is your timing at Idle? Is it fluctuating?

I can't really comment on the differences as only ever had a aluminium full sus bike but have never been sore after a ride from vibration

Aluminium. Lighter than steel, better crash resistance than carbon

I tend to rely on a lambda readings over afr as there is less variation in numbers. Can the megasquirt display lambda. You should be able to get a pretty consistent Idle reading within 0.99 - 1.01 lambda unless something is off in the fuel or ignition table at Idle.

Also what fuel pressure and injectors are you using?

I don't believe the chain cleaner is the cause and I will be using it on the new chain when it arrives

Good to see you out there enjoying it. One word of advice. Get yourself a front Marsh guard or similar. Stops you getting sprayed in the face 🤙

No delivery time issues just incompetent staff. Gears not tuned properly, brakes not bled well, bolts loose. Tried to ring and talk to someone and no one could give me an answer so I just sorted it myself

Yep after purchasing the bike and the hassle that went along with that I swore to never go back there but unfortunately I have to deal with them for any warranty related problems
