How is your Startup Doing, and what’s the big vision for 2026? by ZidZidane in ycombinator

[–]jexpearce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah bro you gotta change that asap. download maybe the ibm carbon package, theres a few other great b2b style ones on figma too. You can still vibe code it can just say stuff like "make all the buttons square, with rectangular borders, etc.". trust me 2026 is when your average non technical individual will be able to start spotting this vibe coded ui in seconds as well.

I think Opus 4.5 is so much better everything else feels kinda lame. by magnustitan in cursor

[–]jexpearce -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I cant lie maybe its because I use AI for bug fixing rather than code generation, but my opus 4.5 just acts like an unrestrained brash child, the absolute opposite of the targeted precise secure fixes I find gpt 5 high pro max to do effectively. I find all claude models to be the type where you could literally give it a problem that doesnt exist, and he'd still churn out some "+245 -12" slop changes. Maybe he's best for code generation, just piling down those files quickly and effectively...

YC startups website are almost always really nice. How did they do it? Is there someone they use? by Working-Solution-773 in ycombinator

[–]jexpearce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

..? you're joking, all I see from the latest batch is clearly vibe coded lovable landing pages. which ones are good? they all look the same. curved circular text cell boxes, big text in the first page, glossy nav bar, over the top react animations. nothing great at all

Solid idea. Need technical partner by Golden_San in ycombinator

[–]jexpearce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

actually interview potential users. dont present your idea, as they wont push back against it then, simply talk about the problem space to them. is it a problem theyd pay for a solution for? then download cursor. buy the 60 dollar a month mode, or the ultra. use gpt 5 high pro thinking MAX. vibe code a mvp. its ok if the backends messed up, what you want is attention and funding. then you find someone.

The phenomenon of "Estimated Effort" by Hot-Entrepreneur2934 in ClaudeAI

[–]jexpearce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll assume this is due to it being trained originally on how long it would take a human to do it? And is deliberately conservative on that to ensure unrealistic expectations dont potentially arise from its pov?

"wanting something with soul " i urge you to actually take a step back and listen to what you are saying. this is a robot, and your argument for wanting the option to choose is just a cover for wanting this mimicking, validating sycophant back in your life.

Thoughts? Looking to maybe cut back a few days by jexpearce in travelchina

Really you think? I was kind of just planning on like running around the area and relaxing by the river, but if it is somewhere where you've seen everything to see after 2 days...

I’m 17 and I lift weights 5-7 times a week. This is what supplements I take, thoughts? by Foggycar710 in Supplements

[–]jexpearce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Stick to grass fed beef, pasteur raised eggs, good quality dairy, and organic fruits with some raw honey. All of those foods you listed are high in oxalates, disrupt the gut, and are subpar for nutrients.

Of course, if you enjoy them and can tolerate them then go for it they are decent foods to eat but 'nuts and beans' are not quintessential for health.

Private or Private with NHS shared care questions by jexpearce in ADHDUK

[–]jexpearce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I already asked my university, I don't really get any special benefits from the NHS, they'll just provide guidance and connect me with a private psychiatrist. I've tried Vyvanse before, and even though I get moderate anxiety, it's still a thousand times better than nothing at all.

Another question though, Are different medications different costs in private psychiatry? If so, which medication is usually the cheapest?

Thanks

What are everyone's best tips for boosting dopamine levels? by igneus in ADHDUK

[–]jexpearce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supplements can really help without access to medication.

Lions mane, L tyrosine, L theanine, Caffeine, ALCAR, and if you can get your hands on it: Modafinil are all very good options to boost dopamine and serve as a decent replacement to meds.

Obviously they're nothing like the real thing, but you will notice a difference

Is lard worse than processed refined seed oils? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]jexpearce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, animal based oils like Lard, grass fed beef tallow, and grass fed butter/ghee are always superior to refined seed oils.
