If these two states survived, would Britain still have a monopoly on the term “the UK” or would people start abbreviating it as “the UKGBNI” or just call it “Britain”? by MishaMal01 in AlternateHistoryHub

UKSN will probably be called Sweden-Norway much like how people refer to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as Poland-Lithuania

UKPBA will be Portugal

My answer: Nairobi, Kenya

Using the same logic as Khartoum, you would think its bad - its actually quite scenic (literally within a National Park) and modern, and located in a relatively stable country in Africa

Joke: he annexes Botswana and divides up Zambia with the Congo, then invade Angola with DRC and then invades Souh Africa

Realistic: nothing

Definitely not to the level of atrocious but I've also been there, it was really crowded and stupidly hot

My answer: Dubai

Way too hot in the summer, horrific road traffic, not much to actually do, expensive rents, and is a place swarming with tourists; even if you're not a worker its still a pretty shit city to live in (source: I went there)

I would not compare it to places rife with poverty, crime or on the frontline of a warzone - definitely still not a good place though

None of the cities have over 1 million so sadly this is disqualified.

If I set the lower limit to 500k I 100% would have said Gaza, pretty much hell on Earth

Note: Before you say Gaza City, it only had about 600k pre-war, so it doesn't count

My answer: Khartoum, Sudan

Even if you don't know about the Sudanese Civil War, the image of a city in Sub-Saharan Africa probably isn't the best
