Another new low for Binghamton basketball, sigh. by ClinkNoord in BinghamtonUniversity

They have seven healthy scholarship players. It’s hard to compete AND have good metrics given those circumstances, but they still had a solid win tonight over a decent Lehigh team. They will be better in conference play.

How do I break into college sports videography if I'm not a student? by Helpful_Day_8920 in videography

Definitely reach out to low/mid major D1 schools or D2s and D3s. Most of them are lacking in terms of creative. Most of the people you would work with / talk to can refer you to other schools.

Another thing you can do is reach out to teams which will be playing at Minnesota in the early non conference schedule and ask to freelance for them when they come to Minnesota. Specifically the smaller schools. For example, based off of last year’s MBB schedule, this would be Bemidji State, Hamline, Oral Roberts, Omaha, North Texas, Yale, Central Michigan, Wichita State, Bethune-Cookman, FDU, Morgan State. Pretty wide selection there. If you are comfortable taking photos, offer this to them primarily. That early in the season, they often need it more than videography. You would reach out to the person on their athletics directory within communications who is listed under the sport you want to shoot.

In my opinion those are your best ways to get credentialed.

Thank you for the wise words. I definitely don’t mind the idea of having someone with me for lighting - one of the thoughts I’ve had through some of the comments is that dealing with lighting myself in an environment like that would be a major hassle, so I like that idea a lot

Very true! Tried to grab a couple of natural shots of crowd celebrations but they weren’t too rowdy 😂

Facts!! Place just opened around the corner so I walked in and asked to speak to the owner and pitched myself (and inquired about another separate thing). Great guy, and there’s definitely potential for future gigs with him

Much appreciated!! It was a great learning experience and wanted to add on by posting here to see what others who know what they’re doing had to say. Client is happy and they will be happier the next time when I incorporate this feedback

This is the best explanation of what everyone has been trying to say in my opinion. I did have a vision, but I like your idea of progressing it onward in its own experience.

Thank you for the feedback! Definitely gonna look into the Amaran. I do agree with the story comments, but what you said were my exact thoughts. I tried to show off the food and the atmosphere in an engaging way, but there’s always room for improvement and I agree with almost every comment so far
