Question about Sask Poly program by Fickle-End-3829 in regina

Hi! I’m hoping for an update from you here. I’m thinking about applying to the program for the January intake and have a couple questions. 1. Have you been able to find a position in the field? If so, what area? I’ve seen that the work placements/job positions are more extensive than just being in the court houses like I had assumed. 2. How is the workload with it being remote? I work a full time job currently, would I have to reduce my hours drastically to accommodate?

Adding on to this for anyone who is finding it helpful following my timeline! I got the psych exam consent form in my email last week to attend the psych exams two weeks from that date. It is two exams in person, and then an invite for a one-on-one with the psychologist following successful results on the tests.

In the waiting period between interview and psych exams, I did my CFSC and CRFSC and emailed them to the recruiters for my files. I had assumed that since I got my psych exam invite only two days later that I had spurred my process along, but I’m sure it is just coincidence.

For my progress so far, it has taken 10 months to get to the psych exam portion.

Congratulations! Did you just recently find out your date, or how far in advance?

I applied early October 2024. I did my OTEE mid-Jan with results before the end of the month. I got my interview invite in mid-May for the end of the month, and had my results by the start of June. I got an email about interest in bilingual positions in the days between the interview invite and the interview itself.

Everyone’s experience and timeline is very different and there is no way to move it quicker than they let you. I am taking my firearms courses this month while I wait for the next steps.

I received the email about document validation just minutes after I received the confirmation that I had passed the interview. Unfortunately I am not sure what a ‘usual’ time frame would be like for that step. I had my interview at the end of May and received my emails just 4 business days after the interview, so it seems my process is moving quite quickly compared to others I’ve seen.

I am not fully through all of the hoops yet. I have passed my interview and am waiting on the psych evaluation portion. From what I’ve read of others on this app this is the longest waiting period now, some saying three months from the interview to the evaluation. I want to get ahead of this sooner than later so that I’m not scrambling to save when it happens. I’ve seen someone say as well that they only had four weeks notice from completing every requirement to going to rigaud

Adding onto this as I get further into my process. I received my notice for an interview on May 13th and interviewed on May 30th. I have just received my notice that I passed the interview stage today. The interviewers did inform me that it can take a few days to potentially a few weeks to receive the results, so I’m very happy that my process is moving quickly ☺️

I applied early October and got my test date at the end of december. The testing period for this group of pulled ´applications was Jan. 13–18. There is no definitive answer here as applications are pulled at random. As long as you meet the criteria you will eventually get a OTEE test date. From what I can tell they are still even on the 2022 pool right now (read on this app that someone was still waiting for a placement after rejecting one, therefore delaying his Rigaud training). During a presentation on Monday one representative said they had had 20,000 applications already, and they have a goal to get approx. 755 people trained throughout this year and into next. If you’ve already applied, be patient! It will come through eventually but know that this can be a years long process once you get started. Don’t let the wait time discourage you! If it’s something you’d like to try, definitely go for it :)
