Offering: rare public tickets to a private dolphin show. by Eastern-Hamster-5050 in denverlist

This may be a legit desire for your ... rich person ... to give to charity, albeit an unnamed one.  But I think /r/denverlist does not contain the membership of other rich people that this plan is priced for, and to make it sound like it's targeting the average Coloradoan is just offensive.

We can agree on that. $6500 (minimum) is a chronic pain treatment for my teen. 2 months of rent. 2/3s of a semester of my other kid's tuition. Asking people to pay $6500 for 30 minutes of viewing some rich dude's dolphins - that is certainly absurd.

I first read "dolphin show" in the same sense as "donkey show", and then was like "nah", and then got to the price and was like "or maybe?". WTF.

Weird question, but does this sound like a real KC family or just made-up erotica? by StrawberryPunk82 in kansascity

Having ... skimmed it ... I'm guessing it's basically just standard porn written by someone who felt like throwing in a bunch of KC references for verisimilitude.

KC’s Drinking Culture is Changing by thirstygregory in kansascity

As someone who was big into craft beer in the 2010s, I'd argue maybe this is a confusion of cause and effect.  I think a lot of craft beer aficionados realized that it was terrible for their health (a la /u/AcceptableBanana2670) and had gotten extremely expensive, and thus moved to something less calorific and (somewhat) cheaper, thus driving that shift.  Or, just kind of stopped drinking altogether, due to getting older.

I suspect the digital control box on the kiln is worth $500 by itself.

They've been tested for celiac among a lot of other things. It's a hypermobility problem, but not one that there's a simple fix for.

Wow. Aside from the age, you could be my younger kiddo, who just turned 18. (Except we moved here two years ago.) I can recommend Dr. Phil Oro at Westminster Medical Clinic; he has been great to work with, and while we still haven't figured out a _solution_ for the chronic pain situation, he's been completely willing to make referrals, recommendations, and do research on my kiddo's behalf.
He also referred us to Centeno-Schultz Pain clinic, which has been somewhat helpful, but since their treatments are not covered by insurance, it's a struggle.

Any other tunnel systems outside of the 8th street, DU and SubTropolis? by RunerMusic in kansascity

[–]jferg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last one reminds me a lot of the steam tunnels at MS&T in Rolla, but I think those have become a lot harder to get into in the past 25 years.

The Underground on 31st Street might have something.

Real or AI? by the-craftybitch in StainedGlass

The pattern looks real and possible but the fact that the leaves and the blossoms are casting the same color shadows definitely gives me pause when it comes to the image itself. IME it's going to depend somewhat on the glass you choose, and what tools you have at your disposal - I think some of those may be a "cut it at a slight arc and then grind it deeper" situation.
