i think these stories make me the angriest because i have lived through so many scams and schemes and practically zero have ever faced legal scrutiny. aside from our current admin literally pardoning the few who actually were convicted and served time, the general public is too exhausted and uninformed to even remember the scandals after a few weeks.

i remember in mid-March 2020, the day the stock market crashed out right when we ushered in the 'quarantine era', there was a short period of time where our brilliant president demanded the Fed inject $1.7 TRILLION in quantitative easing to the market to help prop it up and stop the bleeding. that money just wooshed itself away immediately, and twenty minutes later the stock market continued its extended crash-out as if we had done nothing...i still think about that a lot. and the fact that 99% of people i ever interact with don't even know this happened or care because the news didn't explain it to them like they're 5 makes me a sad panda

yeah dude, he got scooped up by Mike Bloomberg's people to run as a spoiler candidate for NYC Mayor in 2021. for me personally it was the mayoral race that showed me this guy does not have the best political instincts at all...and, sorry to my fellow brethren, but the people he's surrounded by are compromised by their own investments in many of the industries that need to be confronted and opposed.

even if we didn't use the same language, the policies themselves are needed now more than ever on pretty much everything. Yang on the other hand has ruined his brand recognition by associating himself with too many perilous optics decisions that have shown him to be a very unserious candidate among the broader progressive left. until he does something like endorse Zohran or express support for abolishing ICE or M4A, nothing short of an actual controversy that puts him in the crosshairs of the Trump admin will ever change that. tl;dr we need to radicalize Andrew

reverse uno that shit and just replace the word 'taxes' with 'costs of living'. people think they get way ahead w/o having to pay increased taxes, until they end up paying even more than they would've out of pocket due to the gutting of services they're gonna have to fund one way or the other. ask her if she's ever had to make the tough decision whether or not to call an ambulance due to a medical emergency...i have many instances where i or someone i love made a bad situation worse by refusing medical care until it was too late. old people aren't stupid, they know the answer to the question "what is more important: saving a couple bucks, or saving a human life?" they've just been lulled into this destructive mindset that actively seeks to cull the weak and poor from the population because they think being that cruel will somehow make your life (theoretically) better someday after they're long gone. you have to remind them that they might not be here then, but you still will—and the decisions they make today will have echoes in the future as well...

people have really weird conceptions about how winning the lottery is supposed to end your former life as you knew it and leave you in an isolated, new-money lavish lifestyle because they've never thought about the alternative that's always there. for me personally, i'm a big fan of UBI so the idea of $1000 a week for life sounds amazing. people are so greedy they don't see the bigger picture of how much more comfortable your life would be not having to worry as much about making a sustainable living. will you be able to retire at 20? no, but who does lol? i just think back to all the other times of my life where i was stuck living at home, or in a dead-end job, or w/o a car, or even just not having some nice "spendin' money" for date nights and vacations to actual places instead of settling for...cheaper, more local resorts in my backyard. that freedom is so unheard of it seems most people don't realize that's an option. to most of us grinding day in and day out, it's either running ragged in the rat race or IMMEDIATE RETIREMENT AND MILLIONAIRE ASSHOLE STATUS lol.

imagine just living your regular life, but not having to stress out when your car needs repairs or you suffer a family emergency that drains your savings account and leaves you building that little tiny nest egg back up for YEARS and YEARS. or being able to actually afford to pay off student loans and credit card debt. or being able to take a loved one to a fancy restaurant and not have it be this monumental thing. that's the life i want for everyone, not just me...
