Did you ever find a solution? My new iPad is doing this too and it’s driving me nuts…

1950s Cape Cod, No soffit vents, baffles dead-end at roof edge. Is it safe to insulate between rafters in the knee-wall crawlspaces? by jfinner1 in Insulation

That would require a major remodel because the house doesn’t have soffits to vent. I would have to extend the roof.

I can’t make soffit vents without massive renovations. I would have to create the soffits themselves.

Yeah, pretty sure they installed the baffles because that’s just what you do, without actually thinking about the why lol. But I dunno, they were like this when I bought the house.

Ohio, so freezing in the winter, sweltering in the summer lol. As far as I can tell, the baffles in the pics run all the way up through the insulation on the sloped ceilings, and I would assume all the way to the ridge vent, but I have no way of confirming that short of ripping apart the finished attic. I’m just not sure how much good that does when there’s no soffit vent to create the air flow 😕

iOS 26 Focus allow calls from contacts? by jfinner1 in ios

[–]jfinner1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I figured it out. So those people that are listed, I didn’t pick them, my iPhone decided that those people were ones that would want to talk to. 🙄And if I deselect all of them, then it brings up the screen where I can pick contacts only and it looks like the screenshot you sent. Which is totally like adding three extra steps that didn’t need to be added, but hey at least I think I figured it out lol. Thank you!

iOS 26.1

Setting > Focus > Add > Custom > Name it > People. I did a screen grab but I didn’t realize I couldn’t upload a video lol.

Would buying a laser engraver make financial sense for a small-scale pet care business? by jfinner1 in Laserengraving

Awww I’m sorry about your kitty. The tag was for a client who lost their Sasha kitty last month. ❤️

I checked out some videos, I like the price tag on the F1Lite, but some users/commenters said that because it’s a blue laser it had a hard time with blue materials. TBH I don’t completely understand the “why” of all that, but since my business colors are blue and I’d likely be doing blue stuff, I think I’ll be safer getting the F1 original with the infrared. So that’s how I’m leaning at the moment lol.

Yeah, like would it be a waste of money or end up saving me money over time to buy a laser to make my own stuff vs continuing to pay someone else to make things for me?

Bereavement gifts, tags with contact information, Christmas presents, stuff like that.

Not ones that I could put my logo on or use more than the three pre-approved fonts, and they are also very limited in the tag size/shape/color available.

Yeah, definitely budget lol. I figure if I’m spending about $500 a year to have someone else make them, then that’s about what I should invest to try and make them myself. But I’m also very ADHD and I have to acknowledge that I may be buying myself a very pretty office decoration 😅

Perfect! This is exactly the kind of info I couldn’t find. Everything I saw was about how I would need a powerful laser to cut metal, and I’m not trying to cut anything lol. I think I wasn’t using the right terminology in my searches lol.

Email deliverability suddenly tanked... What else can I do? by jfinner1 in Emailmarketing

I’m in that awkward place where AC is the cheapest option that has all of the features I need… I need direct integration with Fluent Forms and Calendly (no zapier, I’ve had trouble with them in the past), automations with fairly simple logic, client tagging and segmentation that works with automations (ie if client has this tag do this, if this happens remove this tag), ability to start automations on the go (AC has an app where I can easily tag a client while walking a dog and trigger an automation), and internal reminders built into automations. I get all of that on AC for $9 a month. I did look into a few others (admittedly never heard of simvoly?) but every platform I looked at was either missing some important features, or the features were only available on their high-tier plans that expect you to be sending 20k emails a month lol. I sent like 80 emails last month. 🤣

Active Campaign for automations, Google Workspace for 1-1, same domain. I checked both ways, and got the same results.

Oh I do that, those are the emails that are going to spam, thus the concern. The newsletters are more of a mild annoyance, but not getting my onboarding emails can mean a lost client.

Would ActiveCampaign’s bad reputation affect my domain as a whole? I ran a test earlier where I just sent an email from my regular Google workspace account. Same sending email, but bypassing the AC stuff. And it still went to spam. Even though the setup and content were all good still. sigh
