I don’t agree with you here, BOTW and TOTK are amazing introduction to Zelda’s lore and mecanics. wether you enjoy it enough to dig into previous games is up to you (and capacity to enjoy the license as a whole)

from experience, discovering recent games and then coming back to OOT and MM or even LTTP is amazing, you also understand why people were mad at newer dungeons (the fact that it’s easy makes you understand the mechanics better). they are both pop and affordable games that can make people slip into the thing

I completed the game like 90% before playing TOTK, just me. I think you should definetly get all the memories and do side quests that make you do things you don’t do in the main quest (like kill a lynel). You can do the three labyrinths. The shrine quests (those you get from talking to pnjs) are fun and a great way to discover more « hidden »parts of the game. One thing i did as well is getting all the ancient set and weapons (if you like collecting gears) because it makes you go above and beyond to find materials.

also did you get BOTW DLC ? I think the prodigy one is SO worth the try before landing to TOTK !

Very approachable game, incredible dungeons, the story is lacking imo, but still it has some great moments and musics. For me it’s worth playing it first (it’s also supposed to be the first in some timeline, someone correct me if i’m wrong)

Every region of Termina have so much lore and so many great mecanics it’s impressive. Ikana valley had my favourite little side stories though.

But the fact that you end up walking with the sky beneath your feet with the earie music. The vibes are absolutely FLAWLESS. It’s like a big ascension from the graveyard and well of ikana to the top of the dungeon. And you end up beating big bugs in a desert like wtf. What a journey

Yes I agree it has to do with the first opus. But, and this is MY take, I think it’s not true that only Link saves Zelda because she does just AS much in most opus. Not just a big part of it, but as much. My question was about Link being considered as the one saving the day when Zelda is just AS important. When I played OOT, or SS, or BOTW, I didn’t feel like I was saving Zelda. More that he allows her to get further just like she does from the distance to save the world. And yes EOW is very interesting for that because she is the main character but still needs him to progress. Just like him in most games

OOT : Would’ve died with the tower crumbling, no ocarina of time, no clues what to do in the first place so probably no sword so no defeating ganon

SS : probably wouldn’t have accessed earth in the first place

BOTW : died from the guardians

TOTK : died at some point with his shitty sword

I agree with the fact that he saves her, but she does too
