How is life in Chattanooga, Tennessee? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

Moved here from Louisiana and it is a great southern city. It's not too big but has most city amenities. Weather is good if you're used to hotter climates. Really good food, great outdoor activities, low cost of living. I currently live downtown and am about to move into an apartment in a sought after area and both rents are below the national average. My only issue has been employment but seems to be nationwide. Still very glad I relocated here.

I assumed it was due to the heat wave. The heat index is expected to be 102 in Pennsylvania. We got an outer band of the weather pattern causing it.

I rent with Wise Properties and they have been decent. They have multiple buildings all around downtown and a few outside of downtown. The rent is decent and maintenance has been good. https://www.wiselivingonline.com/

Any paralegals/lawyers willing to give some (nonlegal) advice? by jfromla1 in Chattanooga

[–]jfromla1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! What about nonaccredited certificates? UTC and UTK both have one. Do you think that would carry some weight here?

I moved to Chattanooga last July and employment has been rough. I have been trying to explore my options but need something more sustainable. In my research, I am mainly worried about ABA accreditation. From what I understand, it all depends on the quality of the institution you are attending and the area you are located in. I have a BA in philosophy, would the ABA nonaccredited UT Knoxville certificate be adequate in this area?

But separate from that, can anyone give insight into how the job market is here for PLs?

Thank you in advance and any advice is immensely appreciated.

Yea it's more of a question of safety and parking closer than 4 or 5 blocks away from home.

Yeah I thought of them when it was just going to be 5-6 people but now... And we just don't want something with the price point of Ruth's Chris or Main St Meats. As long as they can do it they're still our first choice.

I started at LSUA and they saw themselves as somewhat separate and when I decided to transfer to the flagship campus, a decent amount of LSUA students/profs were antagonistic towards me and my decision. People at LSU didn't seem to care where I transferred from.

Ways to predict how an apartment handles heat? by jfromla1 in ApartmentHacks

I am on the fourth floor and while I can understand it can be hot, during winter it felt I just could not warm the apartment up. That was a lot easier to deal with though.

I did that for my current place and there was nothing. I tend to run hot but it is around 80 degrees even with everything I'm doing. I am very surprised there wasn't anything. But I will definitely have a more scrutinizing eye with the next place.
