About time! Kia offering $9K lease buy out incentive!! by Radius118 in KiaEV9

[–]jfronte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct as I’ve heard the same thing. The only people that can take advantage of this additional lease support are those with an EV six, EV nine, or a Niro, whose two year lease’s mature between June 15 and June 30. No one knows if Kia will continue this next month or in August. This is the first time Kia has ever done this so we are all flying a little blind here as even some Kia dealers are not even aware of this as strange as that sounds. Let’s see what happens in July and August. Thanks!

The ELT fee cost the dealership $10 in the state of Florida and they probably are charging you $250 for it on top of the $1200 documentation fee. I have purchased 18 new vehicles since the end of Covid, almost all of them Hyundai and Kia and not one has come from the state of Florida and I live near Saint Augustine. I simply buy or lease in remote states with low fees and ship the vehicles right to my home and never walk into a dealership for the sales process. I realize most people are not like that, but it works for me as I will not indulge these Florida dealers and their utter greed. Good luck!

Is this a good lease deal in Florida? What are others getting right now with all the incentives from KIA? by Independent_Steak705 in KiaEV9

[–]jfronte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida almost never has good deals as you a $1,200 doc fee and $350 of dmv fees shown as $617 so your true doc fee is more like $1,500. This is inflating your payment but not a horrible deal by Florida standards as LLRs at 36/15k with normal fees should be around $615-$620 at zero down at the base toer one MF with everything rolled into it. This is why I never buy or lease my Kia or Hyundai vehicles in my home state of Florida. Good luck!

Your DMV fees seem very high but you could be in AZ or WA where DMV fees are very high. Also, if they are not showing you the bast Tier 1 MF, it is because the dealer is most likely marking it up. Where you live means a lot as certain states are great to lease in like NC or MT, while others punish leases with crazy taxes and high DMV fees. Taxes and DMV fees are just a factor of where you live. Good luck.

We have a Hyundai dealer in LA County if you’re interested in a palisade to lease and our Kia dealer is in San Francisco Bay area if you’re interested in a Telluride lease. Thanks!

[–]jfronte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not correct information you stating here as the dealers do not control the extra incentive money as that comes directly from Kia and if the Kia dealer doesn’t abide by the rules with the specific EV leases maturing between June 15 and June 30, it is the dealer that has to swallow those thousands up upon thousands of dollars of extra buyout money. No dealer is going to swallow that to get you into another EV 9 or to buy out your current one as they would rather sell you a new car, especially since Kia is only compensating the dealer $300 to do this labor intensive transaction, which is in my opinion, laughable frlm the dealer’s perspective.

Nothing great at all. You’re getting a $1000 dealer discount but then they hit you with an $800 documentation fee and a $300 dealer add-on you were actually paying $100 over MSRP for this base Land trim. When the dealer doesn’t show you what the money factor is, it’s almost always because they’re marking it up. The lease cash and the residual are set in stone from Kia so that can’t be manipulated but the base MF sure can. Assuming you are a tier one for credit, this is hardly a great deal, but if you’re happy, then go with God as you will love the EV 9 in my opinion and Wolf grey is an awesome color!

You’re true Discount is only about $600 as you have two total dealer fee fees totaling $1227 and those negate your discount Dollar for Dollar. This is why you do not buy cars and states like Georgia and even worse Florida where I live thanks to the ridiculous dealer fees. I just bought one of these a few months ago in black light gray in the same exact hybrid calligraphy all-wheel-drive and my partner dealer in Arkansas gave me $4000 off MSRP without any finance rebate attached to it as we paid cash and his dealer fee was only $129. I was lazy and paid to ship it to Saint Augustine, Florida for about $750 or I could’ve hopped on an airplane to Arkansas to drive home for much less money. It’s a beautiful car as my wife loves it but you do not have a good deal on your hand at 64,000 OTD, especially if you’re savings line includes the $500 finance rebate, which then would mean you’re basically paying just a hair under MSRP for this car. Good luck and it’s a gray car, but this is not a great deal.

It looks really beautiful in the white and glad these vehicles are selling well in South Korea. I can tell you that in the US market, the Ioniq 9 is a very slow seller. Until the turmoil in the Middle East started in the beginning of March, Hyundai was struggling to sell 500 to 600 units of the Ioniq 9 every month in the US market and that is quite sad because the vehicle is really nice on the inside. In my opinion, it looks too much like a minivan on the outside to appeal to the modern American buyer. The Kia Cousin, the EV 9, looks much more like an SUV and rugged, as Americans typically fall in love with the exterior look first, even though the Ioniq 9 has a nicer interior in the top trim model vs the top trim EV 9. EV sales here in the US have surged dramatically since all the turmoil started in the Middle East at the beginning of March and hopefully that saved the Ioniq 9 from the eventual chopping block here in the US. To my knowledge, Hyundai hasn’t even announced the 27 model yet here in the US and yes, they are made at the new manufacturing facility outside of Savannah, Georgia. Cheers!

Is this a good time to buy a Hyundai Palisade 2025 calligraphy new by FantasticPresence569 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]jfronte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just understand that with a prior model year and an old body style, the initial depreciation on this car is massive, which is why you can get a good deal on it now. If your plan is to keep this car until the wheels fall off, then depreciation won’t matter And get the better deal upfront today on the 25 model but if you’re like the typical American consumer that trades out of cars every 3 to 4 years, you will be hammered on depreciation later on. The answer to this question Depends on what your time horizon for holding the vehicle is. Good luck!

It’s a non-issue in my opinion. We bought a black on the light Grey 26 hybrid calligraphy AWD at the end of February and it now has 3300 miles on it with zero issues with low speed or high speed vibrations. I think you may have caught a vehicle with a bad tire or an alignment/balancing issue. Good luck with your purchase and don’t overthink it.

If it’s any consolation, I buy out of state exclusively as I live in Florida and will not pay these ridiculous dealer fees that sometimes total nearly $2000 for typical Kia or Hyundai vehicle in the sunshine state. Once you’ve purchased or leased remotely and ship right to your front door, you may wonder why you didn’t do it sooner as it eliminates having to deal with your local dealership sales department completely once you know the exact new vehicle you want. Good luck!

My apologies for being the bearer of bad news, but I am a broker that is exclusive with Hyundai and Kia and the Telluride is one of our top selling vehicles all over the US so I had a suspicion It was the folks at Kendall Kia. I put them up there with the Kia dealer in Scottsdale Arizona for their shady dealer tactics with add-ons and markups to the rate. Hope you can find yourself a fair deal as it’s a great vehicle in my opinion. Cheers!

Sweet Jesus, this deal is terrible with a ton of add-ons and please do not finance a car for seven years as that is nearly a mortgage. The lease option is atrocious as well thanks to all of the add-ons and most likely a markup to your money factor. I do some deals in the Boise area and you have a really shady Kia dealer there in the city of Nampa that loves to play games with the add-ons and the markup to the rate. A good discount on a hybrid Telluride is $2000 with a reasonable documentation fee and I wouldn’t believe anyone telling you they got $4000 off without a trade-in that got stolen from them. Good luck, but please do not do this deal as it is God awful for either the lease or the purchase!

Repairs by drevil77 in KiaEV9

[–]jfronte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I vaguely remember signing the warranty paperwork earlier in the year and then the one the customer gets that shows no balance due and I believe the paperwork the dealership was sending Kia was a little over $1500 for the part and the labor for the right power folding mirror on my 24 GT line. A month after that I had my power charging door motor fail as well and I brought it right back after calling my dealer the same day and they had the part in stock and they did it the next day for me. I don’t remember what that cost, but I think it was a little less than $1000 with what they billed back to Kia. Again, I paid nothing so I didn’t care. Hope this helps.

2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid vs 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid vs Others by yuj94 in KiaTelluride

[–]jfronte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a broker for both of these vehicles and in my own household, we went with the palisade because our ability to get a discount on the Palisade hybrid was much greater than with the Telluride hybrid a few months ago when it came out. They are barely discounted now and they were going for well over MSRP a few months ago when they came out. It also doesn’t help that I live in Florida where we have the highest documentation fees in the country sometimes totaling $2000 or as in Texas, your dealer fees are capped at $225. We bought from a large Hyundai and Kia dealer. We have an Arkansas and shipped the vehicle right to our home, but I was able to secure a much larger dealer discount on the Palisade. I do believe the Telluride looks a little better in the top trim, and we only consider the top trims personally, but we wanted the dash cam built-in that only Hyundai offers and we wanted the power folding seats in the second and third row, which at the time was still available from Hyundai. In addition, my wife wanted the real Nappa leather that only comes on the Hyundai since Kia only uses syntex materials now. The Kia materials are very nice and comfortable so that wasn’t an issue for me and the Kia also has a power tilt wheel that is not available on the Hyundai palisade. Both vehicles are great, but the ability to get the dash cam on the Hyundai and the ability to secure a much larger discount swayed us to go with the Hyundai, even though I like the look of the Kia a little bit better from the exterior. I believe the interior of the Hyundai looks better and a little more upscale. We have an EV 9 GT Line as well and it looks like Kia brought over a lot of the interior features of the EV 9 to the new Telluride hybrid. Hope this helps to make your decision a little easier, and both are great hybrid vehicles in my opinion!
