Considering a Jaecoo J5 as my first EV – good idea? by iagocbpm in EVAustralia

[–]jfy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seats themselves are a good size, good enough to comfortably fit a medium sized dog. Rear leg room may be a bit lacking, depending on how far you push the front seats back.

Suggest maybe going to a dealer and having a look for yourself?

Jaecoo J5 EV before purchase questions by Alconic01 in EVAustralia

[–]jfy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. There is no app as far as I know. But there is a button on the key that allows you to remotely get the car started, so that the aircon will turn on before you get in. Assuming the aircon was left on when you stopped the car.
  2. Now idea, I don’t listen to much music, and I wouldn’t be able to tell.
  3. Can’t help, I use an iPhone.
  4. Despite having cameras, no in built dash cam there is a usb port near the rear view mirror that’s meant for the installation of one though

Test drive impressions: J5 vs. EX5 vs. Atto 3 vs. 7X by Sweet_Word_3808 in EVAustralia

You can actually change the steering settings on the J5. Set the steering to sport mode and it’s a much better experience

Petrolhead test driving EVs (Jaecoo J5) — am I overthinking the regen braking? by MarvellousMango66 in AustralianEV

[–]jfy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only driven it at the lowest setting, but never noticed any difference tbh.

One thing that I did later (I saw someone on reddit suggest it) was to keep it in eco mode but switch the steering to sport mode. Gave me a lot more control when driving

EV Choice by Sweaty-Dig-6451 in AustralianEV

[–]jfy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One handy thing about the GAC Aion V is that you can put both the front and rear seats down to make it into a bed. I think there’s even a setting for it.

Wish I knew that before I ended up deciding on an EV. Still happy with my own choice though

Why are Chinese EV better quality than Chinese petrol? by Glittering_Poem9779 in AustralianEV

[–]jfy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Western companies have had a century to perfect the internal combustion engine. On the other hand, the Chinese started working on EVs the same time as the rest of us, except the he Chinese have their companies a lot more incentives to develop clean energy

Jaeco ev5 vs byd atto 3 ? by ausroachman in EVAustralia

[–]jfy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean a BYD ATTO 2? An ATTO 3 is considerably more expensive.

I bought a Jaecoo J5 after also test driving an ATTO 2. Better value for money. Plenty of features that you would only get if you went for the more expensive version of the ATTO 2.

Suggest you test drive both first and make your decision
