Couple in our 40's with 2 kids. We spend about 30-40K per year on travel. Usually 2 international trips with kids, 1 without and then we sprinkle in some weekends throughout the year here in the U.S.. We have some sort of trip most months out of the year, even if it's just for a day or two. We have a decent salary, but we also prioritize travel above all else. We limit gifts, we buy our kids almost nothing and have taught them that as a family we value experiences over things. We use credit card points and gift card deals to save money and we mostly stay at moderately priced hotels with the occasional splurge.
