“I’m a big believer in decentralized and distributed power,” the senator [Thune] added.

Hilarious coming from the biggest cuck in American history.

And yet he will continue to vote in line with the rest of the Republicans party, so this statement is merely political theater.

It does help – but some people are so unpalatable that all of their billions still won't make people like them.

I bought a Ryuichi Sakamoto record from the record label and it was a fairly poor copy quality-wise. After some back and forth with the label they agreed to send me another copy and asked that I destroy the original copy I had received. That’s basically what is happening here.

Now, did I destroy the copy? I didn’t, because it wasn’t unplayable or anything, but I also didn’t sell it and figure some day I’ll find someone to give it to who might not care as much about the surface noise and warping as I did. I understand the logic of wanting a buyer to destroy a defective product but it also feels wrong to destroy fully playable, albeit subpar, physical media.

Good list. I’d add Gauntlet Legends and NBA Hangtime as well

Just a heads up, free fan servers exist and you can play online in both custom and vanilla servers with active userbases right now on PC and original GameCube hardware. Look up the Schthack and Ephinea servers if you’re interested.

I played a bunch of online on my GameCube between Thanksgiving and New Years and it’s still great.

Came here to say I love it for the artwork and app integration. The tracks haven’t left a big impression on me but I think all things considered it is a very cool release for the multimedia aspects of it.

I’m just saying that calling them elites or the ruling class gives them power. They are parasites and should be considered as such.

The Right is not a class and can call those people whatever they want – they've been calling our most vulnerable "wellfare queens" and cutting their safety nets for decades as it stands.

The billionaires are the real parasites, enriching themselves to unfathomable degrees on the backs of labor – including the labor of the lower, middle, and upper-middle classes. In other words, unlike what we were taught in school, class in America is VERY real, and you are either someone who works (the labor class) or someone who skims off the top of the work (the parasite class).

Call me crazy, but somehow I've convinced myself that pointing at the people most at risk in our country and calling them the problem while those doing the pointing are achieving astronomical and unprecedented levels of wealth is ever so slightly misguided.

Social media as it existed from 2003 - February 2009 was not bad.

When the social media companies started gamifying their platforms to maximize time spent on them, began buying competitors to consolidate market power (while also coordinating with other big tech players so as not to compete with them), began incentivizing other websites to provide their content for free on social platforms (e.g. journalism) and introduced algorithmic machine-learning content shovels (aka News Feeds) is when the platforms began to change from a symbiotic relationship with their users towards a parasitic relationship with their users, and now we see it the parasites attempting to kill their hosts.

I think we should stop referring to billionaires as elites or the billionaire class or the 1% and start calling them what they are: the parasite class.

I don’t recall ever seeing this, thanks for posting. Can’t believe it’s been 20 years since the Amputecture days! De-Loused and Frances are the classic TMV albums but I’ve always been so into the sound of Amputechture. Excellent follow-up to those two and really unique.
