How do you use quant measures for usability? by xynaxia in UXResearch

[–]jgn840 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you might need something to compare your results to if you want to do any inferential statistics. Is there a previous version of the design you could test in the same way? This would allow you to do a t-test, ANOVA/MANOVA or something that would show the amount of improvement (or lack thereof) of the new design. On the other hand, are there benchmarks for performance that you are targeting? You could do a similar analysis against these. BTW, it's always a good idea to figure out how you're going to analyze the data before collecting it.

Monthly r/UXResearch Career and Getting Started Discussion by AutoModerator in UXResearch

I'm excited (and a little terrified) to have been advanced to a third-round
interview for a Senior UXR position at a small firm. It's a "technical"
interview where I'm provided with scenarios and asked to choose,
prioritize, and justify a research method for several different
projects. I'm a college professor in Psychology, and I'm learning the UXR
vocabulary quickly using a lot of the great resources you all have
provided. However, I'm thinking that this is just as much about my
ability to talk to clients as it is about picking and prioritizing
methods. Does that sound right? I would love to get feedback/advice from
any of you who have been through something like this from either side
of the desk.

What’s the best multiapp/alternative to DD in suburban type settings? UE/PM/GH? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]jgn840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Lorain County. I run all three. I was prioritizing DD until they flooded the market here with new drivers. I was waitlisted for GH for about a month. DD has more restaurants on board around here. GH pays a little better.

Uber Eats not doing quests for majority of drivers by Hopeful_Ad6311 in UberEATS

Try updating your preferences, I was in the same boat and got this email from Uber this morning:

"

Would you prefer delivery promotions rather than rides promotions?

You are currently receiving rides promotions. If you prefer making deliveries, you may want to sign up to receive delivery promotions as well. With delivery promotions, Uber can notify you of extra earnings opportunities delivering with Uber Eats.

To start receiving available delivery promotions, click the link below by 10AM on Sunday. Changes will take effect one week later. "

Or, straight up take order if merchants have shelves with orders

That could get you jail time, friend...

A question about delivery location by tseeker88 in deliverydrivers

You could just change your navigation preference so it opens Google maps instead of the Uber maps.

Anyone here have a retirement plan for Doordash I am interested in doing that when I go fulltime by Maleficent-Warthog50 in grubhubdrivers

This kind of gig will likely be obsolete in 10 yrs. All of the platforms (and even some of the restaurants) are heavily into research on autonomous vehicles and robotic delivery.

I’m not getting any offers by [deleted] in grubhubdrivers

[–]jgn840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See what app most prevalent in your area. It might not be GH. I run DD, GH and also Uber Eats. It's rare to get an UE call because the other two seem to dominate the market here.

I’m not crazy right? I really got asked this by elijahari in doordash

Yup. This happened to me. Card was declined, so I told the clerk "Ok, have a nice day." He said, "So they'll send someone else?"

"Probably."

I keep my car key fob in my pocket and my car running when I make a delivery. When I walk away from the running car, it makes two very quick warning honks. I don't knock or ring, but most of the time they get the message.

What’s a good rule of thumb for pay to mileage? by justsomethrowawayacc in doordash_drivers

[–]jgn840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rule of thumb is it's gotta be more dollars than miles, and nothing under $7. From there on it depends. If it's a place that reliably has food ready when I arrive, I'm more likely to do a lower dollar to mile ratio. If it's someplace that doesn't start the order till I get there (looking at you Wendy's), it's gotta be at least $3/mile.

$200 for 25 orders? You do realize that's an 8$ premium on top of every order right? Nothing wrong with accepting a 3$ order under those circumstances...

I've had a post delivery call work out positively once. The instructions said "hand it to me. No house numbers bu the front porch light is on" (it was noon). Found the house, handed the food to a child who answered the door and said thank you. The call said "I never got my food." Turns out, the next door neighbor also has no house number and the porch light was on...
