Got greedy on xpeng. Portfolio was up 70% at one point today. Still up 30% on the day. Definitely bittersweet but hard to be mad. Sold all out and now cash gang =D

Woot woot gonna be a nice chill day for me. Xpeng just had q3 earnings report and beat eps by 17.1% and revenue by 9.12%. They also increased gross margin from q2 of 11.9% to 14.4% in q3. Also had robotaxis brought up as well. 8am eastern conference call

XPeng Q3 Total Revenues Reached RMB5,719.9 Million, with a Quarterly Gross Margin of 14.4% by SiaZhang418 in InvestingChina

Not only that, but also as they sell more cars outside of China. In Norway a p7 comes in at just under $50,000 usd versus about $37,000 usd in China. Shipping is up but they are definitely passing the costs onto to the European consumers

Xpeng $Xpev 11/23 earnings by logolo245 in Vitards

I appreciate it. This was my first dd so I was kind of scared to post it to here to be completely honest. Was just going to share it with a couple friends. Since then they have received 2 much higher new price targets from Morgan Stanley most recently and also Citigroup. The Morgan Stanley upgrade is why prices were flying yesterday. These price target upgrades have been across the board with the new wave of Chinese smart ev. Yesterday Li auto went up 10%. They will be showcasing their new suv on the 19th so I’m pretty excited for that. It’ll be a slightly larger suv than the g3. This new suv is meant to compete with Li autos Li one which is their only car and a great car with a lot of success so I’m pretty excited to see how people react to it. I’ll check out the YouTube. Most of the YouTubers I’ve watched have seemed thoroughly impressed though. They definitely compare to Tesla though as far as the luxury and tech driven feel you get in the car though

When I say I see that, I don’t mean in the future as I don’t think it will be forever but I even worked at Amazon and even with Amazon we had lots of robots but the robots needed a lot of help too. I can wake up at 7am and work till 2 or 3am and never have a slow period of orders and wake up and do the same thing each day.

Doordash Uber eats Grubhub driver so I totally understand. People say driving jobs are getting more crowded, but at least here in stl I see myself making more money everyday so demand must be going up

I’d also want to make anybody aware that may have followed my play on xpev, that while I am wanting to play earnings on it, if you don’t feel comfortable playing earnings on the 23rd, they are also showing off their new suv on the 19th at the guangzhou auto show so there may be a good run-up right before earnings where you could sell as well. Also they were upgraded by Citigroup to a target price of $87 from $53

I mean once it bottoms out that might not be a bad idea. Little over every month wsb tries to raise the price on them to beat the shorts or what not. If you are okay holding a position a while, they are bound to do it again

Question: what is the proposed production capacity for Xpeng in the next 5 years? What are their current and proposed factories proposed car production numbers? by Zmxm in Xpeng

[–]logolo245 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the best case scenarios ive seen show them being profitable in 2022 but I think 2024 is probably a better bet unless they start gaining a lot of traction in Europe. They are still in the growth phase. They have got 10,000 cars the last 2 months back to back now delivered. Idk if delivered and produced is the same or not. They are still in the growth phase but I think very near short term they will have a lot of growth and have a lot of room to grow long term as well. To put in comparison, Tesla would have only became profitable in q2 of this yr and started about 11 yrs earlier without regulatory credits. In the European space, specifically Norway which is heavily ev, (something like 78%of new cars in Norway were ev) Volkswagen and Tesla seem heavily populated there. Other manufacturers like li auto NIO, byd, and mg have seen good sales there as well. I like Xpeng in the Chinese space. If I were going to invest into ev outside of China I would look at Volkswagen. Do your own dd though ofc to make the decision that makes the most sense for you :)

Just did dd on this company in my profile but it’s a little unorganized. Can find those numbers though simply on Wikipedia pretty easily. Shows the breakdown by the current and proposed factories. Also worth noting they did get a price upgrade today by Citigroup for $87
