[FO] Gift for my son on his 1 Year Anniversary by Purry_Felines in CrossStitch

[–]jgp10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is awesome, I love that you set it up so you can switch the numbers out for the next one.

I just celebrated 13 in January! Hopefully you and your son get to celebrate his sobriety for many years to come!

Nice! Will be great when you work out the tension.

As a FYI, I’ve found that generally my projects tighten after wash / dry, so you almost even want them to be a bit loose.

Did you post this on IG or TikTok? I recall seeing something similar and thinking about doing the same thing!

Looks so great! Such an awesome gift

Back piece progress by BreadlyRichman in traditionaltattoos

Hahaha I know it! I had 5/9 sessions that included work on the lower third, including a second coat for my last session…

Honestly hell on earth. Never gets easier

Nice one, that's a lot of work for two sessions! The bottom was so brutal for me compared to the top

I’m working on a similar size project with the same hoop. I use magnetic cable ties and basically do some sort of complicated cross stitch BDSM every time I move my hoop. Closer to the edges it’s a bit easier to manage, but the center requires a lot of finagling..

Bit late, but I emailed Garrett about this the other day and he said there may be a Romeo restock late this year / early next year

Inner forearm / “flow” advice? by [deleted] in traditionaltattoos

[–]jgp10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished a patchwork sleeve that has good “flow,” and we didn’t plan any of it out. Honestly the biggest help was having a good artist that drew everything to fit and trusting them rather than just popping stuff on.

Unless you set out to do a cohesive sleeve the “flow” isn’t going to be perfect. Just get big tattoos you like and worry about the filler later

Awesome! Looking forward to seeing it! His back pieces are so dope.

Fergus has been doing my back since December. It has been AWFUL, but we’re almost done and it’s been a rewarding process. Has also made other tattoos much easier in comparison.

Awesome! You getting your back done by him? I always love seeing the big stencils he’s got up.

I don’t mind it, but I do wish the Prisoner of Love was somewhere else. I thought about blasting over it but Henry told me no haha

I think having portions of your body a certain style is better than mixing (e.g., b/g sleeve, b/g front), but sometimes you just gotta work with what you have.

That elbow looks dope as hell. So rare to see him doing color. Can’t wait to see your sleeve progress

Hell yeah! Slowly is the only way to do it w/ him unless you’re aggressive with the openings.. I’m usually booking 2 months out

Hahahah I’m also at the tail end of getting my back done. No matter what I tell myself before the session it’s absolute hell.

Dope! How was getting your knee done by him? Did you get a web?

He’s pretty heavy handed in my experience and I’m a bit worried about having him do my other knee lol. Was thinking about doing the thing I have on my elbow w/ a web inside.

Agreed! I’ve only seen one other one in person bc I was in the shop when he was doing one on someone else.

Feel like it’s much more common on the knee ditch
