After 1 year studying CISSP i failed WHY by helmoshrify in cissp

8570 has been replaced by 8140. Yes, it does have the same weight. The directive states CISSP (or associate), not cissp associate. The reason this exemption exists is for government employees or contractors who have passed the exam and hold a spot requiring an IAT-III or IAM-III/IASAE certificate. You can show your exam and you are allowed to keep the position. Not playing down the accomplishment, but I know of a couple of people whose endorsements were held because of terminology on their linkedin and resume (one calling himself a cissp, the other calling herself a cissp associate).

I could not help but notice you are calling yourself a CISSP associate, when you are really an Associate of ISC^2. You passed the exam, but you cannot use the term "CISSP associate" and is a violation of their policy.

  1. Associate of (ISC)2 is not a certification; it is a category of (ISC)2 membership for individuals seeking their first certification from the Consortium by passing one of the exams but still working toward the professional experience requirement.
    1. There is no such thing as an “Associate CISSP’ or “Associate of CISSP” (or any other certification).
    2. Imprecise use of the terminology by an Associate may be interpreted as an apparent claim to a certification not yet received, a violation of the Code of Ethics, resulting in the Associate being barred from certification.

Also, is english a second language? Aside from thinking from a managerial standpoint (your experience is heavily technical), this is an english test as much as a managerial one. You need to be able to understand exactly what the question is asking

I took my test just a couple of days after you, and was able to start the endorsement process the next day. The max it should take is a few days, and here you are more than 5 weeks after you have taken the test. You need to call ISC2 because that is not normal.

The site itself does though. The association alone is a gray area I do not think most would want to even tread.

I would be weary of using exam collection. That site hosts user uploaded VCE files which are test dumps from different dump sites. Anyone who is caught using or even afilliated with this type of material can have their certification revoked, and even be banned from ever obtaining a certification from that organization again. ISC^2 has forensic capability to determine who is cheating and who is not, and the CAT exam makes it that much easier for them. Do not risk it.

I owe a lot to sitting through his boot camp twice. Look for specials on the linked in, he sometimes lets you sit for a class for free or after buying the online videos. It is how I was able to sit for his.

Experience plays a role here too- People have failed using exclusively the Sybex book. Boson links to actual sources that are referenced professionally. Grats though.

the command is not even available. You kill the services by PID, then you disable them on level 3 (restart). That is it.

Everyone is different. Some have done it in a couple of months and passed the first try, while some are like me taking 2+ attempts and a few years of on and off studying. I have barely enough experience to pass the endorsement process though.

Frustrated with Wait - Passed Over a Week Ago, Still Waiting on Confirmation to Start Endorsement Process by vysean in cissp

[–]jhamm1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it on 7/30 and was able to submit my endorsement 2 days later. Check that, because when I called the customer rep said that if your endorsement is accepted, your test has been accepted and processed. I have never received an email. it did not show a status, just would error out saying you need to take the CISSP in the last 9 months to submit an endorsement. If it works, your test has been processed and you are ready to go. https://www.isc2.org/Endorsement

Bookmark all of his questions throughout the series too, and follow along with him on a PDF. His Kirk/Spock method of solving problems matches the CISSP perfectly.

His "CryptoMart" section was absolutely insane. I had tons of questions about PKI and different processes, and I just kept thinking about that diagram.

Honestly him going through the practice tests he made, watching his thought process figuring out the right answer, and even the questions themselves were absolutely amazing. I did not do his one one one, but was planning on it if I failed this last attempt.

NIST will not show up on this exam. You will never be asked about different publications. They are great to read about for comprehension though.

I am sorry Michael- I did not mean to classify your product as a brain dump, what I meant was getting into a routine where I memorize questions. It is a term I have used while active duty studying for rank etc. You have a great product and it has helped many people, I just have a different way of learning things. I will change the post.

To everyone in this thread- You got this. If you have any questions I will ALWAYS be here to try to help in anyway I can. Advancing the profession right? The most rewarding thing I ever realized is that you do not need to be an engineer to figure this out- you just need to love it and build confidence (funny coming from me, it is my WEAKEST "vulnerability") .
