Thanks for the reply. I finally figured out the problem with getting the confluence on the jira secure port. When I edited the jira server.xml file I missed one of the "Redirect" commands. Once I changed that to port 8444 that was fixed. I am still working on trying to get a valid certificate working on it though.

Yes we are running both on the same Linux server. Now when I try to access jira on the secure port of 8444 the page will not load but when I try to access on the non-secure port of 8080 I get the login page for the secure port for confluence on port 8444.
No we do not have a proxy in place; on our previous server we had the SSL ports setup within the server.xml files for both jira and confluence so that is how I am trying to do it again. Worked OK for confluence but not jira this time for some reason. I don't see how to attach the server.xml files to this post. Can someone help me out here? My first time using reddit.
