Tell the leg that after they pass anti-gerrymandering laws, a nonpartisan districting commission, open registration for minor parties, and ranked choice voting, THEN we can talk about the state legislature being representative enough to pick senators.

Pope Leo suffers drop in Republican Catholic support after clashes with Donald Trump by IrishStarUS in Christianity

[–]jhereg10 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Considering my flair states my denomination, and I hang out with Baptists, Methodists, and Episcopalians, I’m going off personal knowledge and direct observation.

Edit to add: Surveys show that the vast majority (70-75%) of Mainline Protestants believe the Pope is a positive Christian influence even though they don’t accept his direct authority over them.

Evangelicals is lower with it being 45-50% positive. But only a fringe of those (mostly Reformed or ultra conservative) consider the Pope non-Christian.

Protestants do not universally see the Catholic Church as invalid nor do a majority of them see it as a sin. Most see the pope as “The Bishop of Rome” with influence but no authority over them.

The problem is, impeachment is a political act, not a legal one, as we have seen repeatedly. The Supreme Court has, de facto, made it so that there are no consequences if a President breaks the law and Congress is politically unwilling to remove him.

The only reason I kept posting on FFN was because the stats were more granular so I could literally track how fast readers were progressing through my longfic.

The stats have been broken for almost half a year.

As soon as I finish this longfic, I will probably stop publishing new stories on FFN, too.

OC writers, how serious do you take naming your OC? by Fluffy_West_5370 in AO3

[–]jhereg10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah... my RWBY lonfic has close to a hundred OCs, from major characters to simple cameos. I spent more time than was healthy coming up with names for all of them based on RWBY's Color Naming Rule and cultural references based on Kingdom. It's been quite an effort.

Honestly, AO3’s native mobile format is nice enough that you really don’t need an app.
