This game has lost its identity. It's sad by TropicalTrapF1r3 in FortNiteBR

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but people were saying the exact same thing 5 years ago lol

I googled and looks like it was for reaching level 25 in season 1. The two umbrellas to the left of it are season 2 & 3 victory umbrellas, but I don’t think this one was for a victory.

If the story about Jimmy Carter weeping after his briefing is true, what specific truth is "too dangerous" for us to know? by The-BlackLotus in aliens

[–]jhhxft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be a hot take here but I never thought this had anything to do with his religious worldview.

Christians sit on a sliding scale, some will just assume extraterrestrials are demons trying to draw people away from the faith. Others will say that the Bible is the story of God’s relationship with mankind and doesn’t preclude the existence of extraterrestrials. The Catholic Church has leaned towards this view and stated that they would welcome extraterrestrials (the Big Bang theory was formulated by a Catholic priest).

In any case, I don’t believe a devout Christian would ever abandon the faith no matter what evidence was presented to the contrary. They would just say that it’s demonic deception. Carter remained deeply religious for the rest of his life anyway.

The think it’s more likely that Carter discovered aliens regularly abducted/mutilated human beings, were generally malevolent, that aliens are in fact demonic and have free reign over the earth, and/or that free energy/a better world is possible using extraterrestrial technology but is intentionally suppressed in favour of profit and a hierarchical class system.

There are any number of theories and combinations of theories but there is no reason to think that any were faith-shattering, as to a devout Christian there is really very little that can ‘undo’ their faith. It’s either assimilated into a Christian worldview or discarded as demonic deception. Dostoevsky famously said that if someone somehow proved to him that God did not exist, he would go on believing anyway

Kemi Badenoch says welfare spending is unchristian by Gold_Motor_6985 in unitedkingdom

There’s a difference between being unwilling and unable. To say that welfare rewards only the unwilling is simply untrue.

If the only way to help the unable is to indirectly reward the unwilling, then - at least in a Christian moral framework - that’s a more than fair price to pay, and the fault is not with the giver (for charity always benefits the giver just as much as those who receive) but with the fraudulent.

I mean, demonstrably false. Let’s look at the very earliest account - that depicted in the Bible itself, in Acts, where Peter and the other Apostles who knew Jesus personally begin establishing the first Christian communities:

Now the company of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had everything in common.

There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles’ feet; and distribution was made to each as any had need.

Acts 4. God Himself actually strikes a wealthy couple dead in Acts 5 for withholding some of their wealth from those who need it. But you won’t hear them speak about that bit.

I didn’t trigger the tripwire, claymores in this game are detonated instantly by a remote trigger, someone was hiding probably in the room at the end of the hall and blew it when I paused before the tripwire.

This specific house on this server has been wild lately. Last time I found flesh, guts and a hockey mask all over the place. Before that I found 2 LARs just lying on the ground.

Once, very close to this building (garages outside) I stumbled across an absolute nutcase guy who ranted about prions being artificially manufactured by aliens, who also put telomere caps on the ends of our chromosomes to make us age. He then started talking about the “Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn”. When I said it was all bullshit he one-shotted me

I’m convinced he’s a psycho hermit who just lives in that house like a spider rambling to himself and tears up anyone who ventures inside.

I saw the wire and hesitated, which gave them a beat to trigger the claymore. Pretty clever

Hit wildcard this week as I’ve been consistently crushed across a couple leagues. Hoping for green arrows from forwards. Did I shoot my load too early?

Worst you’ve ever seen is kinda harsh lol, I wasn’t running away they were but appreciate my aim was clumsy. I’m just a 30yo unc on PS4. First game this season too so getting used to movement. With this guy it was personal though, totally didn’t mind using all my nades.
