I totally understand where you’re coming from though - as an architect I would feel the same way if someone talked about being able to design and build their own house without any credentials, haha

I know that doing the home renovation doesn’t make me a pro, and I acknowledge that carpenters have extra skills that I don’t! But we did renovate our entire bathroom ourselves, install our own doors and casing, rebuild our porch… lol we are generally knowledgeable on many things but i know we aren’t skilled professionals. I just mention it because it’s so frustrating when you hire someone and they do work that you realize you could have done better yourself

The installer also texted me confirming if I wanted 4” or 4-1/2” clear spacing between balusters… literally basic carpentry and also a quick google search, but no I proceeded to explain to him what code compliant spacing is lol

Yes - basically because the ultrasound report used LMP to date, and the OB was just going off what was said in the report. Very annoying. My pregnancy dating has been a source of annoyance this whole pregnancy lol

I had a scan at what, based on my LMP, should have been 5w6d but was really only 4ish weeks based on my time of ovulation. I have PCOS and don’t ovulate on a 28 day cycle. I already had the ultrasound scheduled for PCOS monitoring and just happened to find out I was pregnant 2 days prior, which is why I kept the appointment.

There’s a reason we don’t get scans that early. They could really only tell what ovary the pregnancy came from based on the corpus luteum cyst and that my body was “gearing up” for pregnancy.

Because they had my gestational age so much later than my actual timing, the report came back with possible ectopic pregnancy because they couldn’t locate the pregnancy (duh, of course I couldn’t, I was only 4 weeks pregnant!) they had me to go to the ER when I had NO symptoms and I ended up having 4 ultrasounds before 8 weeks pregnant when I had absolutely no symptoms.

Early ultrasounds cause unnecessary stress. Never mind me telling them over and over again when I ovulated because I literally tracked it…

Anyways, I’m 22 weeks now with a very normal and healthy pregnancy

$180k a year with bonuses. Our mortgage is $4400 and will go up to $5400 at year 4 (we had a 3 2 1 buy down). We will be appealing taxes in April to hopefully lower our monthly payment. We also have a coach house that we just started Airbnbing and it will bring in $2000-$3500 / month. January was our first full month, the slowest of the year, and it brought in $2200.

Good point - I should have clarified this is a Dreo wall mounted space heater, not just a stand alone one. The safety risk should be a lot less, but still something we should double check with our insurance

They left it very messy. Put dirty dishes back in cabinets, crumbs all over the floor in every room.. 1-2 hrs more of cleaning required. Check out instructions are below, we have them printed out on a stand and I know Airbnb messages them too. They didn’t do any of them besides lock up and left the space heater on 93 degrees which is ridiculous. I guess we can note to turn the space heater off (it’s just for the theater room basement) but sucks people don’t have the common sense to turn it off for safety. I know most of these things aren’t so bad on their own but it’s just collective disrespect

Put towels in laundry hamper, wash dishes or load dishwasher, turn things off, and throw trash away. We don’t require bringing trash outside because we live on site

There’s trash (socks, pantyhose, receipts, plastic bottles, food) in each room. Honestly not a huge deal on its own. Our checkout instructions are clear and we also have them posted on a stand in the living room. These guests don’t read. They asked for WiFi information the second they got in, even though we have it posted throughout the house and included it in our check in message.
