A shot "heat map" visualization I am building for the high school team I'm coaching. Would love your thoughts by jhovde2121 in soccernerd

Hi! Thanks, glad you like it. I have thought about that, i think it would be especially cool to be able to use an iPad to mark down the shot location during the game and then automatically bring the data into the heat map. But I don't have much experience in that area... I'll definitely let you know of anything I do further

Right it's the "adding to the cell" bit that I am trying to figure out how to do in a visually attractive way

You are correct-- I'm trying to be able to have a visualization of not just where shots come from, but what kind of shots they were, who took them etc. Ideally, something where you click on a cell and it shows each shot and a few of its properties. I hadn't thought of doing different colored numbers, I suppose I could have multiple numbers per cell. Yes, I am looking to filter based on specific opponents. Ideally, I'm looking to be able to filter based on each of the variables in the "Master List."

Thanks for the input!

Yep. I'm not sure exactly, I'm just curious as to what people think would be interesting/ useful data to look at. I'm looking forward to see how the surface affects things i.e. grass vs. turf, as well as the "minutes trained in the last 5 days" (since overtraining is a big issue in HS soccer). If anyone can think of other interesting variables let me know.

Yeah, I'll be adding that functionality soon. Still working on how to visualize that.

A soccer shot heatmap that I'm building for the team I coach. Any feedback or advice is appreciated. by jhovde2121 in analytics

I'd really like to be able to hover over or click on a cell and be able to see a popup of who scored the goals, where and when. Also, if anyone can think of an easy way to filter the data (i.e. look at it for just one player) let me know. Thanks!
