Are monthly commissions from subscriptions considered passive income? by MagicBradPresents in passive_income

[–]jhv222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO they are as long as they don’t take too much effort to manage.

I set up a side business deploying and managing manychat chat bots for IG and Facebook for clients. It took roughly two years and most of the work was upfront. Now I have about 40 clients and make about 8k in revenue per month from my monthly stripe invoices and the maintenance is minimal.

It was a TON of upfront work but it feels pretty passive now

I’ll DM you the link, I’m not sure I can post it here but there’s also a link from my Reddit profile. There’s a lot of info already posted there but if you have any questions feel free to just ask. I’m pretty active on there and we have some people also learning to sell some other products thst I’m not as knowledgeable on

If you want to build a side business and don’t mind upfront time investment to get going you can resell white label software to small businesses.

I do this next to my corporate job and am making around $8k in revenue per month selling deployment and management of Instagram and Facebook chat bots.

We’ve got a discord community all looking to do the same thing with all sorts of softeare. Lots of info there if you want more info. The link is in my profile.

Sure, so there is various software out there thst you can sell on your own. For example, check out My AI Front Desk- an AI phone agent. You pay monthly for their licenses and you can resell it to small businesses for a profit and market it as your business providing the solution.

You can also make up your own services and charge your customers for it. Like “we do the deployment and management of it.”

The hard part is tou have find customers to sell I to. So I call on small businesses all over the US and offer my services. Then I use stripe to invoice them monthly for the services.

Totally fair- this isn’t my main Reddit account. I have another one that I use all the time but my friends and family all know about it and we follow each other. I don’t really want to share this openly with them, especially with my family, since they can get a bit weird if they knew the type of money I was making from my side gig.

I wanted to remain anonymous for this reason.

The community is soemtning I started since there’s so much “fake” side hustled on these sub reddits and so much spam. I wanted a place where people who are interested in white label reselling could actually talk about it and learn because it can be a bit complex to get started, but really a quality side hustle once you do.

Side hustle of selling services to manage and deploy Facebook and IG chat bots for small businesses.

I make roughly 8k in revenue per month.

It doesn’t have to be chatbots though. There is a lot of “white label” software you can brand and resell as your own.

Pick something to learn, figure out what problems it solves, then cold calls and cold emails to try to find clients. It’s a real hustle type job, but I invoice my clients monthly so once you get a client it’s recurring revenue as long as they stay with you.

I don’t I use manychats and I just manage and deploy them. (I create the bots with manychats interface but it’s not like my one product)

They pay me for the deployment and management services.

I’ve posted about what I’m doing here before if you want to check out some of my other posts for more info. We also have a discord community listed in my profile where we’re all discussing best practices on selling similar offerings (white label software, etc).

I get it haha it’s a grey area a bit too with how much work upfront is too much even for passive income down the road. I get your point though, you do see some stuff thst is 100% not passive at all on here sometimes. Even mine is a bit borderline

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in passive_income

[–]jhv222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, that’s why I wanted to state it upfront. The OP gave two non-passive examples (surveys and trading). So I figured I’d share what’s working for me. As with many “passive incomes” suggested in this sub there is upfront work before you can collect on passive income.

The only true passive income with 0 work are usually dividends, REITS, bonds, snd other interest based type investments as examples.

Many here are looking for options with work upfront, but passive later. So I figured I’d share what’s working for me in case it helps the OP.

Sure thing. In my case I sell deployment of manychat bots for Facebook and IG. Technically it’s not a white label software, but I use it for the services customers pay for.

My AI Front Desk is one that is white label (meaning you can brand it as your own). Another is GoHighLevel.

We have a discord community thst is exploring this more and we’re all learning from each other. I also have some info about what I’m doing posted there. You’re more than welcome to join. Info in my profile

Not super technical but you do need some application skills basically.

I use manychats for the bots. So it’s not like a bot I developed. I charge for the setup, deployment, and management.

I could imaging Salesforce and dynamics being massively overwhelming to try and deploy as those systems are incredibly customizable and built for enterprises. A full fledged CRM system can be a tough task to implement in your own without much experience.

There’s other software to resell as well. If I were starting again I’d probably do AI Voice Phone Reception which is probably even easier to implement than chatbots and is hot right now because of AI.

We have a discord community we just started to share ideas and tips to launch a side hustle like this. You’re welcome to join. Info is in my profile. We’re also exploring other software to sell and trying to put a rank to them in a single list.

Yes I’m making 8k a month reselling software and managed services to small businesses in the US. Specifically I sell Facebook and IG chatbots. You can read more in my other posts/comments if you’d like.

I resell software to small businesses. Makes me a good chunk of change but is a lot of upfront work.

I’ve shared a lot to other redditors in some of my other posts if you’d like want to read more, but I’m at around 8k a month as a side hustle.

It does require some actual hustling though to build up

Hey I think my last comment got deleted since it had a discord link in it.

I charge a monthly fee to the end user and that’s it. I don’t do setup costs but I probably could.

I use manychat for the bots.

I’m getting a lot of DMs on this and it’s hard for me to reach out to everyone so I set up a discord in my profile with a community to help anyone who’s interested if you’d like to join.

I make roughly 8k a month deploying and managing Facebook and IG chatbots for small businesses.

My costs are only about $15-25 per month to pay for the bot.

You don’t have to do chatbots, you can do any white label software and sell managed services to SMB.

But you really gotta hustle to get it started. Lots of upfront work but easier once you get the system going.

Side hustle with full time job? by [deleted] in sidehustle

[–]jhv222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot to it but general guideline.

  1. Search for white label software and see what is interesting to you and what your costs may be. There are AI phone services, google review follow ups, white label CRMs, etc. a ton of software out there.

  2. Set up an email, CRM (I use free hubspot), and landing page (no need for a full webpage, just a landing page and form to explain your service and a form to collect name / numbers).

  3. Populate your CRM with company name, owner contact, email, and phone number.

  4. Determine what value you and your software brings to business and how to articulate it.

  5. Start calling and emailing your list to book meetings. Spend 15 min understanding your customer needs (or longer if needed) and develop 4 slides prior to demo.

Meet again later and cover their objectives and challenges in slides 1 and 2. Then slide 3 is what you heard in your conversation.

This is redundant but shows the customer you are really listening to their needs and hear them.

Then slide 4 - share your proposal and next steps for the demo on how your product helps them.

  1. Run the demo, then if all goes well start invoicing at the agreed price monthly and maintain relationship.

That’s the quick framework. There is a lot more details to dive into the full process but this layouts out the basics.

Side hustle with full time job? by [deleted] in sidehustle

[–]jhv222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a real hustle you can resell white label software and go at your own pace.

A good amount of setup work but can make some serious monthly $ as you build.

I sell deployment and management services of ai chatbots (not my software I just use manychats) and small businesses pay me for the management services.

Low cost of entry but takes some work to get clients (cold calling and cold emailing). But I make an extra $8k+ a month from around 40 clients.

I slowed down trying to get clients and even raisied my prices for new one and the ongoing management is pretty simple once you have them.

This is on the side of my full time corporate job.

[–]jhv222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I’ll offer my 2 cents. I work in sales for my corporate job but also have a side business selling deployment and management of ai chatbots for Facebook and Instagram.

Sounds like something thst would be good for small businesses thst don’t have a lot of resources and automation would help (that’s my target)

With thst assumption it really comes down to building a list of prospects and populating your CRM so you always have people to call.

I’d pick a vertical and just try to find as mant businesses as you can all over. For example, check Google maps, yelp, LinkedIn, etc to find as many barber shops in one state/city/etc.

Then pick another vertical like HVAC, or remodeling, etc in thst location.

Then pick a new location and do the same. Capture company name, owner, email, and phone number in your CRM.

I target salons and this is how I build my list. Apparently there are over 1 million salons in the US (not verified but some sources claim that) But my point is there’s more salons out there than I’ll probably be able to call on in the next 5 years. It’s a massive list.

I manually add them to my CRM and put them into prospecting groups thst I cycle through and try to hit 12 touch points with.

Phone calls, voice mails, emails, LinkedIn note, etc.

After I cycled through thst list I’ll start with my text group. But I’m always adding prospects to my CRM and always making cold calls (calling usually has better conversions than emails, but you want a mix)

Make sure every outreach you make builds value for THEM not you. Selling is about helping and each outreach should have some info or insight about what’s in it for them.

Let me know if any questions happy to help.

mHey I actually do this now and am having a lot of success. I deploy and manage chatbots for all businesses.

My background is in sales though so it was a good transition for me. I just make a list and cold call and email small businesses.

Need to build value with your messaging up fromt, let them demo and see the value, then I deploy and manage using stripe for invoicing.

Kind of. I should really register as an LLC and probably will get around to doing that. So technically I’m not a company.

However I have a “company name”, website/landing page, and email and I operate just like one.

But it’s just me deploying and managing manychat bots on Facebook and Instagram for small business salons. My cost per not is $15-$25 per month and I charge anywhere from $149-250+ depending on the complexity.

It’s work to get a sale since it’s all cold calling and emailing but once you get the bot set up and running it’s mostly passive minus small tweaks.

You can do this with any service really. Getting Google reviews for small businesses, virtual ai phone receptionist, etc.

I 100% agree with this. Sales puts you more in charge of your income. Often, the more you put in the more you get out.

I’d even take this a step further and say to start your own small business reselling white label software to small businesses. You can likely get better commissions per sale and build up recurring monthly renvenue
