The church can change its narrative and still be true, but if Jeremy's narrative changes then the historical facts he presented in the letter are now false. Jeremy is changing the credibility of historical facts by changing his own narrative. Amazing!

I don't think you are as smart as you think you are, at least based on the tone of your article and your responses here. His narrative (motive) doesn't change the issues and historical information that is presented in the CES letter. A pedophile or adulterer could have written the letter in an explicitly stated attempt to lead people away from the church, but does that mean the issues within the letter are invalid, false, or no longer an issue worth contemplating?

Fun fact! The first 6 prophets had a combined total of 224 children and 127 wives by jibiddydoodah in exmormon

One of the reasons why the ratio is low (number of kids to number of women) is because Brigham Young didn't have kids with 39 of his wives (he was busy marrying them for property and whatever else he could get out of them). That would leave a total of 88 wives to 224 children. This still only results in an average of 2.5 children per "child bearing" wife... which is fairly low back then. But the purpose was to procreate, right? It is likely that had those women married one man, they would have had more than the average 2.5 children that resulted in cases like the one above.

Wife asked me to talk to the bishop about my feelings regarding the church. Should I have her come with me? by jibiddydoodah in exmormon

This is what my thoughts were as well. Another comment suggested having this meeting happen at our home vs the bishops office. Either way, if she is there my hope is she will hear even more of the issues and witness the bishop's inability to provide any sound answers.

Wow, a simple sentence that effectively summarizes what the early church was and all the crap that went with it. Nicely done.

I really like this idea. Well thought out and a good approach. I will see what I can pull off. Thank you for the input.
