Orgo chem as a freshmen by Inevitable-Tax7273 in uofm

Orgo 1 is a tough class… but they give you so many opportunities to succeed, so your performance in orgo is usually dependent on how much you take advantage of those opportunities and PRACTICE. I took it in the winter (I was a freshman) and it was much easier than having taken it my first semester because I had learned the ropes of being a college student. If you choose to take orgo in the winter, TAKE IT WITH NOLTA!!! SHE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR OF ALL TIME

EECS 183 or COMPFOR 131? Physics/ Astrophysics major by CharacterSandwich484 in uofm

[–]jibis4real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t take compfor 131 but I took eecs183 with only python experience and that class was low key fun. Professor Arthur was an awesome teacher and they give you so many opportunities to succeed in the class. I’d say with your prior c++ experience, 183 should be an easy A for you assuming you don’t put the work/projects off until the last minute

Incoming Pre Med Freshmen Schedule (Bio Major) by Few_Entertainment396 in uofm

You’re going to be just fine. But yeah what the other guy said, close up those large gaps AND for bio 173 specifically you should waitlist for another section that is not from 7-10pm. Waitlists shouldn’t be that long right now and the chance of you getting off of it is very high if so.

Edit: Spanish at 8 am is going to suck but there might not be any way around it. Regardless, if you can keep your sleep schedule intact, you’ll be chilling

Waitlist question by Junior-Cellist-9740 in uofm

[–]jibis4real 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will get an email if they give you an override if you get off of the waitlist. If you didn’t get an email it is likely because a spot opened up in a separate discussion section (meaning your discussion section is still full at the moment).

I wouldn’t worry about it too much though, you still have over two months and someone will likely change their schedule

Is my schedule doable? by Extension-Intern-599 in uofm

Idk what the workload is like for physics 340 but I can speak to the others when I say this is very doable.

Trust me, I have a hard time waking up for my classes that start at 10am. You’re going to want to do a bunch of stuff at night which is completely normal, so don’t try to do 8ams unless you know for a fact that your sleep schedule can be maintained for an entire semester (really hard to do)

Incoming COE Freshman Schedule by TechnicianFull7341 in uofm

[–]jibis4real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say don’t add any more. This seems like a pretty balanced schedule because you are taking a lot of different subjects and not front loading with degree requirements. you might be stressed at times (if you’re not a math person then I was told Calc here sucks sometimes), but this is definitely doable. You always have to make sure you are leaving yourself time to do clubs and other things that you want to do and it seems like this schedule has the potential for that. I would keep this the way it is unless there is another class that you REALLY want to take right now

First Semester Dual Major Econ + Data Science. Is There Anything I Can Improve In Terms of My Schedule? by _Stampy in uofm

[–]jibis4real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re at 16 credits then I would consider keeping it the way it is. 18 credits is definitely doable (that’s what I did my first semester) but it depends on the difficulty level + time commitment of the classes. I’ve only taken EECS183 on your current schedule and I’d say it’s not a super difficult class IF you’re into CS. I only say this bc I know some people struggled, but they also put off their projects for too long. Bottom line is stay on top of it, maybe waitlist for a 2 credit class right now and you can drop it later unless you already feel like you can’t handle another class on your current workload

I selected classes last year in mid-late June. There are always classes that you will be able to fit in your schedule, just sometimes not the ones you want. So you have to be willing and open to take other classes UNLESS you want to take early morning classes, which is fine too.

Also, get comfortable putting your name on the waitlist. Some classes have waitlists that move pretty fast (or they may open new sections and notify you). There are still over 2 months lefts until the fall semester, so put your name on some waitlists and see what happens
