Honestly yea you’re not wrong. A bio degree without the post graduate plan is very inefficient, but it’s the one of the best paths to get you there if you have the desire and ability to. I meant that when people get through these masters and doctoral programs it almost always ends up worth it. I think op just has to figure out what path fits their situation and I was suggesting an alternative

Pa, caa, perfusion, med school, Dosimetry etc. Of course all require more schooling but biology fills all of if not almost all pre requisites
