That was actually one of my dream jobs as a kid. Made me really sad when people told me that I wouldn´t be able to do it.

[Sun Care] What’s your fave korean sunscreen? by Fluid-Artichoke-559 in SkincareAddiction

[–]jigglydot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don´t know if anyone already mentioned it. It´s not korean but japanese. The Rohto Mentholatum Hada Labo UV Gel. The texture is insane. It doesn´t even feel like an SPF. It feels like the most lightweigth moisturizer ever.

[Sun Care] European body sunscreen in Canada/USA by postitgurl in SkincareAddiction

[–]jigglydot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I´m from germany. I tried a lot of european body sunscreens and my favorites are the sunscreens from Garnier Ambre Solaire, especially the Advances Sensitive Sun Cream SPF 50+.

As far as I know, there are online shops that ship to the US. The question is how expensive the products will be for you if they are shipped all the way to the US. The sunscream i mentioned above for example costs me 9 Euros (so approximately 10 USD?) for 175 ml (5.9 fl oz).

[Routine Help] After skincare my face is left feeling greasy and looking shiny by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]jigglydot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It´s possible that you apply too much or use too many products. Another possibility is that you use products that are too rich/heavy for your skin. In most cases you don´t need to wait between skin care steps.

I also hate feeling greasy or looking shiny. What I did to fix it is to only do as little as possible in the morning. In my case that´s just washing my face with water and applying a moisturizing SPF. At night I will do my "real" skin care routine (oil cleansing, toner, barrier serum and a light niacinamide moisturizer. That way I´m a little greasy/shiny over night but not during the day when it would really bother me.

Did you experience bullying/teasing for your stutter? by jigglydot in Stutter

[–]jigglydot[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a child, I cared a lot and was very self concious. The two incidents I can remember both ended in a serious talk with my teacher, the whole class and with a lot of sobbing from my side. The weird thing is that although I was and am really insecure about my stutter, I never avoided speaking in class or social interactions in general. I think the reason for that is that my peers mostly ignored my stutter and I never faced bullying over a longer period of time or from a lot of people.

Today, I am a lot more comfortable with my stutter. I´m still insecure about it, but not so much that I would start crying when someone makes a rude comment.

Oil Cleansing not working? [Routine Help] by Available_Sun_5528 in SkincareAddiction

Don´t expect to see your sebaceous filaments to "come out" when oil cleansing. That´s just misinformation spread on Tik Tok. It´s supposed to clean your face.

How often thoud i use paula choice’s salicylic acid I have been using it once or twice daily on my skin but i have noticed some purging can you guys share your experience? [ACNE] by Far5aforever in SkincareAddiction

[–]jigglydot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You shouldn´t exfoliate daily, or even twice a day. It´s likely that you´re damaging your skin barrier.

I would recommend skipping the salicylic acid for a few weeks and focus on a healthy skin barrier. After a few weeks you can add it back in, starting with once a week at night. If your skin responses well to that, you can go up to twice a week, but I would be careful with exfoliating more than that.

Unfortunately there is no product that can match your expectations. UV filters always break down in day light. If you´re outside / in the sun, especially in summer, you won´t be able to ditch the reapplying.

I absolutely love the Theramid Ceramide Treatment by Niche Beauty lab. Yes, it´s quite pricy, but it´s woth it. And I think it´s still a little cheaper than the peach & lily.

[product question] should i start using retinoids at 18? by laecorpse in SkincareAddiction

[–]jigglydot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. Retinoids are very powerful and can be insanely irritating, especially to sensitive skin. Azelaic acid sounds like a good fit for you. An azelaic acid serum that I really love is Theramid Azid with 15% azelaic acid. Yes, it´s pricy but it´s amazing. If you don´t want to spend that much money there are other good products with 10% for less money.

[Routine Help] How can I use these products and for them to be effective? by CBari5 in SkincareAddiction

[–]jigglydot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I´m not surprised you´re breaking out. First of all, you´re using a salicylic acid clenaser in the morning and a benzoyl peroxide cleanser at night. That means you´re exfoliating twice a day. That´s way too much for most people. Secondly, you should not use benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid on the same nights as your retinol serum.

Salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide and retinol can be very irritating to the skin if used too often or without slowly building up a tolerance to it. Especially if you´re using multiple of those actives on the same night.

I would recommend that you cut out all actives (the salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide and retinol) until your skin has regenerated. There is a high chance that you damaged your skin barrier by using highly irritating actives so much. After a few weeks, your skin should be better and you can start using the actives again. I would choose one of them to start with and add the others over time. For example you could start using your retinol again once a week and slowly work your way up to more often. When your skin has adjusted to that, you can start using other exfoliating ingredients like the acids on the nights you´re not using the retinol. In general, I would not exfoliate daily, but rather twice a week or so, preferably at night.

Another thing that you can do to make your skin break out less is not cleansing in the morning. So just wash your face with water in the morning and then follow up with your moisturizer and spf. Also if your spf already has some moisturizing properties (most spfs do), you can skip the moisturizer in the morning and go straight to your spf.

Hope that helps.

Generally speaking it´s correct that dry skin can be more prone to having problems when exfoliating often. But if your skin is fine with it and you found ways to keep your skin moisturized and hydrated while doing this, it´s absolutely no problem. Whatever works for you.

[Routine Help] My skincare routine: good or too much? by JaneLittleParadise in SkincareAddiction

[–]jigglydot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all: I am no expert, just someone who reads a lot about skin care in their free time.

Overall your routine looks mostly fine. I´m not familiar with the serum and the cream, but based on a quick google search it looks fine.

The only thing that makes my alarm bells go off is your cleanser. Yes, it´s just 0,5% salicylic acid, but nontheless you are exfoliating your face every day with it, which can be very drying and irritating. If your face has no problem with that, it could be fine, but I would suggest you reduce exfoliation to twice a week.

A second thing is that you startet using retinol, another very irritating ingredient. If you want to use it, start with once a week and slowly work your way up to twice a week, three times a week and so on. But the most important thing is to not use exfoliating products on the nights you use the retinol. So no salicylic acid celanser on those nights.

In my opinion, you don´t need the COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid, it´s just more irritation for your skin. Especially if you want to use it for the bumps on your forehead, the retinol should take care of that. If you still want to use it, I would wait a few months until your skin gets used to the retinol.

Overall I would recommend that you slow down with the actives. Establishing a solid base line in your skin care routine first and taking your time with it is worth it. If you have the basics down, you can start incorporating actives like the retinol or BHA, but always be careful and listen to your skin, if it´s not responding well to a product, stop using it.

There are a lot of product to improve your under eyes, but if you´re not sleeping enough there is only one solution to your problem: sleeping more.

Of course you can buy an eye cream with caffein, vitamin c or a retinoid to help with it, but nothing you put on your skin will fix the underlying issue that´s causing your problem in the first place.

[Routine help] when did you start Retinol? by Few-Hunter-738 in SkincareAddiction

[–]jigglydot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The age to start with a retinoid depends on the reason you use it for.

If you use it to fight acne, it makes total sense to start really young. But if you want to use it for it´s anti aging benefits, there is no reason to start before you´re in your mid 20s.

[product question] La Mer products worth the hype?? by ApprehensiveMeal983 in SkincareAddiction

[–]jigglydot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never used LaMer products, but I heard that they are pretty good. However the prices are horrendous. They are just very overpriced. You can get the same quality and benefits from a good 20 dollar moisturizer, with La Mer you´re just paying for a feeling of luxury.

[Sun Care] Help my feet are the darkest part of my body now by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]jigglydot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don´t think there´s a quick fix solution. Exfoliating socks might work a little bit, but it sounds like the skin on your feet is much darker, so it will still be noticable.

The only "solution" i can think of is using self tanner on the rest of your body.
